Winnipeg (45-49 ATS) tries to avoid elimination tonight in Dallas (44-50) in Game 6 of their Western Conference second-round playoff series.

The Jets, who won the Presidents’ Trophy for the best record in the regular season, are 0-5 on the road in the playoffs, but have outscored the Stars 13-11 this series.

Even though the number is low, I’m seeing plenty of value on the under here. This has not been a high-scoring series. Nine of the last 10 games between these two teams have hit the under, so look closely at the 5.5 total posted.

Home ice for the Stars is too big a data point to ignore, and I’m predicting the Stars to win and cover. Home teams are 12-1 in the Jets’ last 13 games.

Winnipeg has been a different team in the playoffs at home and on the road. Specifically, Jets star goalie Connor Hellebuyck has been different. He’s 0-5 on the road in the playoffs with a 5.84 goals against average. At home in this series, he has two shutouts and a save percentage of .955.

Dallas is 5-1 at home in the playoffs with an average of 3.83 goals, while Winnipeg has mustered just 1.6 goals a game on the road. Dallas’ offense has been led by Mikko Rantanen, who has 19 points, the most of any player.

This series has gotten chippy, as you would expect. Stars captain Jamie Benn socked Jets star Mark Scheifele at the end of Game 6 and was fined $5,000. Winnipeg leads the playoffs 541 hits in the playoffs, but being tough doesn’t always translate to being better.
