Tuesday HR Parlay Leg #1 – Shohei Ohtani to Hit a Home Run

I can already hear the haters now, “Slop, how are we taking the absolute chalk?” It’s simple, this game we play is about price. So whenever I see the Japanese Babe Ruth priced at +240, it gets my attention pretty quickly, especially since he’s nowhere near +240 at any other book on the planet besides FanDuel. This is a price game we play.

Still, price is cool and all, but what I like most about Shohei tonight is his matchup with Tanner Bibee

Here’s the thing with Bibee: he’s given up 11 home runs in just 58 innings of work so far this season. That’s bad. Of those 11 home runs, six have come off the bat of a lefty in only 113 plate appearances. I know that Shohei has homered in each of his last two games, but whatever. He goes on runs all the time where he hits dingers in three straight games. Feels right.

Tuesday HR Parlay Leg #2 – Royce Lewis to Hit a Home Run

What we need now is a guy who is flying under the radar a little bit. A man who absolutely destroys baseballs, but isn’t priced like a guy who destroys baseballs. Those guys are not easy to find but I’m pretty sure we have one in Royce Lewis.

If Lewis sees a Taj Bradley, four-seam fastball, we’ll see him jog around the bases. He may even wave to the crowd.

The thing with Lewis is, he’s been hurt for what seems like forever now, so that’s why he’s priced in the +400s. The thing is, he’s hitting the ball very hard at the moment, which lines up perfectly for a matchup with Taj Bradley. Bradley has surrendered five dingers to right-handed hitters in just 127 plate appearances, so he’s ripe. My guess is, Royce smokes the first four-seamer he sees from Bradley tonight. Feels right.
