  • NASCAR’s EchoPark Automotive 400 takes place in Dover on Sunday afternoon.
  • Chase Elliott was granted the pole, but Chase Briscoe, Christopher Bell, and Ty Reddick are lurking.
  • Below, see my NASCAR EchoPark Automotive 400 predictions, picks, and odds for Dover.

Dover is known as the “Monster Mile.” It is a 1-mile oval with some banking. Now, for the first time since COVID, the race is being held in the summer. Naturally, “Mother Nature” did not approve and promptly rained out practice and qualifying on Saturday.

The question becomes, can Chevy win yet another race? Now, this race should last 3 1/4 to 3 1/2 hours, and the stage setup is 120-120-160. Chase Elliott gets the pole based on metrics, with Chase Briscoe also on the front row.

The table below frames out the EchoPark Automotive 400 odds (winner, top three, and top five) for the favorites and several racers who might contend. Further down in the article, I have additional picks and predictions for Dover.

Tyler Reddick+1800+500+250
Alex Bowman+2000+550+250
Kyle Busch+2200+750+375

At +400 odds, the implied probability for Kyle Larson to win the race is 20%. Denny Hamlin at +500 is right up there along with Ryan Blaney at +650. William Byron and Chase Elliott are within shouting distance.

Kyle Larson leads the field in the NASCAR Cup Series odds. Christopher Bell (+500) is still in his rear view as the regular season draws closer to the end.

NASCAR EchoPark Automotive 400 Predictions

The weather, thankfully, should not be as much of an issue on Sunday. The forecast calls for some hot temperatures around 90 degrees and a little bit of humidity. Furthermore, there is only a stray chance of a thundershower. That marks an improvement from what happened on Saturday.

Like I mentioned above, with practice and qualifying wiped out, those who did well in the past few races benefited. Hence, one sees Chase Elliott and Chase Briscoe up front. By the way, the past six races at Dover have been won either by Joe Gibbs Racing or Hendrick Motorsports.

Again, the rationale is that Kyle Larson seems to have the better car heading into Dover. Recent course history suggests otherwise, as Larson has an average finish of 13.3, while leading only 4.8% of the laps. Meanwhile. Hamlin has a win and two Top 5 results in his past three appearances at the Monster Mile.

Now, the Hendrick versus Joe Gibbs battle will be huge on Sunday afternoon. Does Dover make it 7-for-7? Could there be a battle between Chase and Chase? So, that may be the more intriguing part of the race. Early on, these two figure to be battling for the lead. Elliott won here in 2022, and the No. 19 car won here in 2023 with Martin Truex Jr. behind the wheel. If there is a different route to go, Chase Briscoe is an enticing pick for us to make here.

More NASCAR Picks For Dover

Finally, we have hit the semifinals with the In-Season Tournament. Ty Gibbs and Tyler Reddick battle in one bracket. In the other bracket, Ty Dillon goes up against John Hunter Nemechek. Our slight longer shot of Ty Gibbs earlier in the month at +650 is still in it to win it. Given that 32 drivers started this, having a pick in the Final Four is not bad. Anyway, we have one more twist. How about a different prop bet?

Drivers To Lead A Lap

NumberODDS
Over 8.5-115
Under 8.5-115

Fortunately, doing a little homework here helps. Over the past three years, an average of nine different drivers have led laps at Dover. This will be very close, as eight or nine could very well be the number. Remember, these are different drivers.

The last two times out, we were very fortunate to snag Shane Van Gisbergen when we did. Maybe lightning strikes again.

Take Chase Briscoe to win, and do not be surprised if he leads a good number of laps early along with Denny Hamlin.
