Both BetMGM and bet365 have submitted online sports betting applications to the Missouri Gaming Commission. as the state’s license application deadline is now here.

The Missouri Gaming Commission set an application deadline of today, Friday, Sept. 12, for all Missouri sports betting applications. However, a spokesperson for the commission reported that any applications with a postdate of Sept. 12 will be accepted, even if received after the deadline. A final list of applicants will be revealed next week.

Seven total sports betting operators have applied for licenses so far in Missouri, with DraftKings and Circa Sports already awarded untethered licenses.

Bet365, BetMGM Newest Show-Me State Applicants

BetMGM and bet365 applied for online sports betting licenses in the Show-Me State, but neither applicant was a surprise, as both announced market access agreements months ago.

BetMGM announced a partnership with Century Casinos in May to enter the Missouri sports betting market. Under the terms of the agreement, BetMGM will operate online sports betting under Century’s license in Missouri. The agreement includes a percentage of net gaming revenue payable to Century, with a guaranteed minimum, as well as retail sportsbook options to be exercised at Century’s discretion in the future.

“We are excited to partner with BetMGM, a leading online sports betting and gaming entertainment company with a dynamic and innovative brand,” Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger, Co-Chief Executive Officers of Century Casinos, said in a released statement. “This partnership is another step forward in leveraging our Missouri licenses and delivering premium entertainment experiences for our customers.”

Bet365 announced a sports betting market access agreement with the St. Louis Cardinals this past March. According to the partnership, bet365 will have advertising rights on the Cardinals radio broadcasts, Cardinals Insider TV show, cardinals.com, and signage at the ballpark that will be visible on television broadcasts.

Under the state’s sports betting legislation, each professional sports franchise and land-based casino will be eligible for one retail sports betting license and one online sports betting license. Each individual team and casino will also be able to partner with up to one online sports betting operator.

In total, the commission will be allowed to issue up to 19 retail sports betting licenses and up to 14 online sports betting licenses under the approved framework.

Missouri will launch sports betting on Monday, Dec. 1, 2025.
