Week 2 concludes with a classic battle between AFC West rivals. The Los Angeles Chargers (1-0) and Las Vegas Raiders (1-0) play the second end of a Monday Night Football doubleheader with both teams looking for sole possession of first place in the division. The Chargers stunned the Chiefs in Week 1 with a win in Brazil. The Raiders went on the road to Foxboro, knocking off the Patriots on the heels of a huge passing performance by Geno Smith. Last season, the Chargers swept the Raiders, winning both games by double digits.
The public is backing the Chargers, heavily, to move to 2-0 with their second division win of the season.
LA Chargers vs LV Raiders Public-Betting Splits
As of Monday morning, the public is backing the Chargers. The Chargers are getting 60% of the ATS handle as 3-point road favorites with an equivalent 60% of bets coming in on LA. The Raiders only have 40% of the ATS handle and 40% of the ATS bets. Raiders bettors can get them at +3.5 if interested.
The moneyline handle has been dominated by the Chargers as they have received 78% of the handle with an overwhelming 91% of bets on the Chargers. On the other side, only 9% of bets are backing the Raiders, with 22% of the handle on the Raiders securing the win at home.
While the total has risen from an opening total of 44.5 to 46.5, bettors are racing to bet the under. The under has received 93% of bets, accounting for 84% of the handle. The over has received 7% of bets, accounting for a slightly larger 16% of the handle.

Chargers vs Raiders Injury Reports
The Chargers’ defensive depth will be tested as they will be without two starters on Monday Night Football. Elijah Molden played 55 defensive snaps for the Chargers in Week 1, primarily as the free safety. Denzel Perryman played only eight snaps. Expect Troy Dye (linebacker) and rookie RJ Mickens (free safety) to feature more prominently on Monday night.
Del’Shawn Phillips is a premier special teams ace. Last week, he had three tackles on special teams. He might play a small role as a rotational linebacker with Perryman out, but Phillips’ primary role is his special teams savvy.
Brock Bowers is the biggest swing factor on the injury report. He has already established himself as the preeminent receiving tight end in the NFL, and he continued to dominate in Week 1with 103 yards on five catches. Last season, he hauled in 112 passes for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns en route to an All-Pro nod.
If Bowers cannot go, Michael Mayer and Ian Thomas will be relied upon to pick up the slack. The Raiders would also likely elevate either Albert Okwuegbunam or Carter Runyon from the practice squad. Mayer had a solid week last week, accruing 38 yards on four catches.
Bowers is a unique weapon in the Raiders’ offense, lining up inline, in the slot, and out wide in a near three-way split in Week 1. Mayer took about 100 snaps in the slot in both 2023 and 2024, but he was used almost exclusively as an inline tight end in Week 1.
The Raiders will have to re-shuffle their offensive line again without Jackson Powers-Johnson. Last week, he played all 63 snaps at right guard. The Raiders will likely turn to Alex Cappa, a seven-year veteran and former Super Bowl champion. Cappa was among the worst guards in football last year, however, as he allowed eight sacks and a whopping 51 pressures.
