Week 4 of the college football season continues with an electric matchup between the Auburn Tigers and Oklahoma Sooners. No.22 Auburn (3-0) and No.11 Oklahoma (3-0) have gotten off to excellent non-conference starts, but the rubber will meet the road this week. Oklahoma hosts at 3:30 PM ET on Saturday, September 20th, on an ABC broadcast.
I’ve locked in my Auburn vs Oklahoma prediction for Saturday. I’ve also provided the updated betting line.
Auburn vs Oklahoma Prediction & Pick
- Under 46.5 (-105, BetMGM)

Auburn’s season opened with a bang as the Tigers went to Waco and knocked off Baylor on the road. Their schedule has eased up with dominant wins over Ball State and South Alabama, but the Tigers begin their eight-game SEC slate with four straight games against currently ranked teams.
Oklahoma transfer Jackson Arnold has been largely effective so far for the Tigers. He has 501 yards and four passing touchdowns to go along with 192 rushing yards and a team-leading four rushing touchdowns.
Georgia Tech transfer Eric Singleton Jr. has grown in the offense, eclipsing 60 receiving yards in each of the last two games. Junior running back Jeremiah Cobb has 240 yards in the last two games total, and he has found the end zone in all three games.
Oklahoma opened its season with a blowout win over FCS Illinois State before hosting Michigan in a healthy win. Last week, the Sooners went on the road to annihilate Temple 42-3. Oklahoma gets a week off and a tune-up versus Kent State after the Auburn game before its neutral-site clash with top-10 Texas.
On the Oklahoma side, John Mateer has been a sensation. The Washington State transfer leads the SEC in completions and passing yards. He is also second on the team in rushing and first on the team in rushing touchdowns. Mateer is listed as the Heisman favorite now. You can bet him to win the Heisman at DraftKings for +800 odds.
Four different Sooners have at least 150 receiving yards to this point, with tight end Jaren Kanak leading the way with 245 yards. The rushing attack has been a mixed bag led by Tory Blaylock. The freshman has 166 rushing yards this season, including a 100-yard game against Temple last week.
On the defensive side, watch for Auburn edge defender Keldric Faulk and Oklahoma edge defender R Mason Thomas. In 2024, Faulk had seven sacks and 11 tackles for loss last season. Thomas had nine sacks and 13 tackles for loss. Faulk is widely regarded as a first-round pick, while Thomas could go on Day 2 of the draft. Thomas will miss the first half of the game after receiving a targeting penalty last week.
The under has hit in two of three Auburn games and all three Oklahoma games. With this in mind, I am taking the under in this SEC showdown.

Auburn vs Oklahoma Previous Matchups
Oklahoma has won all three games in the history of this matchup. Before their first SEC battle last season, Oklahoma had previously defeated Auburn in the Sugar Bowl on two occasions.
Last season, Oklahoma stormed back from an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to shock the Tigers in Auburn. Linebacker Kip Lewis flipped the game on its head with a 63-yard pick-six with four minutes to go to give the Sooners the lead.
Notably, Jackson Arnold did not suit up for the Sooners for their trip to Auburn last season before transferring to Auburn in the offseason.
