We’re treading water in College Football, which is the only way we want it. If it were easy to become rich, it wouldn’t feel as good. People wouldn’t even want cash.

Lucky for us, the road to profitability has been rocky, but we’re still up on the season. The smartest thing we can do at this point is find two quarterbacks who are playing elite run defenses. Week 8 College Football Pick #1 – Beau Pribula Can Get Loose

What we need to do right here, right now, is find a kid who is comfortable slinging rocks. There are a million college football games on today, so we have plenty of guys to choose from. Like we talked about earlier, we want a guy who is playing an elite run defense. The first guy who comes to mind is Beau Pribula.

We’ve already seen this kid get loose this season, so we know he has it in him.

I know the haters are going to say that Beau has only done this three times in six tries this season, but as usual, the haters just don’t get it. For starters, this kid is playing with an absolute stud at running back, which means the Tigers always try the run first. When that works, they only throw when they have to. We’re talking football 101 here, people.

Running the ball won’t be easy Saturday night in Auburn. The Tigers are sitting on the 6th-best run defense in the country so far this season. They stop everyone. The thing is, their pass defense stinks. We’ve all watched them allow 200+ passing yards out of each of the last three quarterbacks they’ve seen. Pribula is going to make that four straight games. Feels easy.

Week 8 College Football Pick #2 – Rickie Collins Will Show Up Saturday Night

Rickie Collins is terrible. Just ask anyone who follows the Syracuse Orange’s Football program. They’ll tell you. The Orange’s season was derailed the second Steve Angeli went down with an Achilles injury. Once that happened, Collins was forced into action, and he’s been horrific.

People literally can’t stop talking about how bad he’s been.

Here’s the thing: What if Collins isn’t really that bad? What if he’s just a college kid who was forced into action before he was 100% ready? I mean, let’s not act like the kid isn’t capable. He’s literally the second-string quarterback on a Division I football team. He has to have some talent in there somewhere.

The reason I say that is because the kid just threw for 279 yards last week against SMU. Sure, he completed some passes to the other team, but whatever. That was bound to happen. It was a road game in a hostile environment. That won’t be the case Saturday night since the Orange are hosting the Pitt Panthers.

The thing I like about this matchup is the fact that Pitt is another example of an elite defense that can be had through the air. Just last week, Tommy Castellanos went for 241 yards against them. And before you say, “That’s not 250”, the kid only threw the ball 23 times. I expect Collins to throw the ball way more than that, and when he does, he should fly over 250 passing yards. Feels right.
