The wait for the World Series is almost over, with an epic matchup between the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays, who last played in the Fall Classic in 1993.

It’s no surprise that the top-two choices in the MLB Odds to win World Series MVP are each team’s superstar in LA’s Shohei Ohtani (3 home runs & 10 strikeouts thrown in his last game) and Toronto’s Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (.442 avg, 6 HR, 12 RBI in postseason). Below I’ll list the top-15 players expected to duke it out to forever live in immortality as a World Series MVP.

2025 World Series MVP Odds

Player/TeamOdds
Shohei Ohtani (LA)+160
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (TOR)+600

George Springer, who hit the eventual Game 7 winning home run in the ALCS is +1100, is followed by a pair of Dodgers in reigning WS MVP Freddie Freeman (+1400), and Mookie Betts (+1500).

World Series MVP Pick #1 – Teoscar Hernandez (+1800)

There’s just something to be said for wanting to stick it to your old team. Teoscar Hernandez was a member of the Blue Jays from 2017-22, and he’ll be looking to exact a measure of revenge for them trading him.

In the NLDS and NLCS, Teo was second in home runs for the Dodgers (4) and racked up 11 RBI, which is second most in the postseason, behind only Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (12).

With the Blue Jays’ attention spent on locking down a ridiculously talented lineup in Ohtani, Freeman, Betts, and Muncy, perhaps Hernandez can slide in and torch his former squad. At +1800, there’s quite a bit of value on him being the sixth choice to be named MVP.

World Series MVP Pick:

  • Teoscar Hernandez (+1800 at DraftKings)

World Series MVP Pick #2 – Daulton Varsho (+3000)

For my Blue Jays selection, I’m going a little bit off the board with a player that has the fourth shortest odds in the MLB Player Props to be MVP among Toronto combatants in Daulton Varsho. In the postseason, he’s hit two dingers with a solid .273 average, and is tied for third on the team with eight RBI.

In the regular season, he swatted 20 home runs in just 71 games, only three back of Guerrero Jr. despite playing in 85 fewer games than the ALCS MVP. He’s also incredibly gifted defensively, having won a gold glove in 2024, and had 38 defensive runs saved that year, second in baseball.

Varsho is a very streaky hitter, who can get scorching hot in stretches, like he did the first three games of the ALDS versus the Yankees, going 7-for-12 (.583 avg) with 2 HR and 4 RBI. Obviously with odds like this, it’s a long shot, however it’s one with tremendous potential upside.

World Series MVP Pick:

  • Daulton Varsho (+3000 at DraftKings)
