It’s an NFC heavyweight showdown Monday as the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles (6-2, 3-1 away) visit the Green Bay Packers (5-2-1, 3-1 home). The Packers started the week as near field goal favorites, but the spread has been moving towards the Eagles ever since according to the MNF odds.
Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15pm ET / 5:15pm PT from Lambeau Field, in Green Bay, WI, with ABC and ESPN providing the broadcast coverage.
Below, you’ll find the game odds, plus my Eagles vs Packers predictions and picks for Monday Night Football.
PHI Eagles vs GB Packers Odds
Before making any Monday Night Football wager, be sure to consult the best football betting apps. As of Sunday, Green Bay is between a -1 and -1.5 point favorite at most books, but some have dropped the number down to -0.5. The Packers are -110 on the moneyline, with Philadelphia coming back as +100 underdogs.
Total-wise, there’s no real consensus. You can get the under all the way up at 46.5 at DraftKings, while FanDuel is offering over 44.5 at -120 odds.
Odds as of Nov. 9. New customers can claim the FanDuel promo code and get a bonus to bet on MNF.
According to the NFL public betting percentages, betting against Green Bay has been a profitable strategy lately. The Packers are 1-5 ATS in their last six games, with outright losses versus Cleveland and Carolina as massive chalk.
Eagles vs Packers Picks and Predictions
- Philadelphia Eagles moneyline (+100) at FanDuel
Per the latest Super Bowl 60 odds, Philly and Green Bay are both top-six contenders. The problem is, only one team has looked the part. Aside from their season opening win versus Detroit, the Packers have been an uninspiring team to watch. In addition to the Browns and Panthers debacles, this team tied Dallas, and failed to cover versus Cincinnati and Arizona. Their once promising defense ranks middle of the pact in most advanced metrics like success rate, EPA/rush and EPA/pass.
The pass rush led by Micah Parsons is formidable, ranking 10th in pressure rate, but the Eagles are equipped to handle the heat. Philly owns one of the strongest o-lines in football, while few QB’s can escape the rush better than Jalen Hurts.
Speaking of Hurts, he’s been playing like an NFL MVP odds candidate recently. He put up a perfect passer rating against the Vikings in Week 7, and was nearly as good the following week versus the Giants. He’s thrown for 505 yards and 7 TD during that stretch, and will get star receiver AJ Brown back from his one game absence on Monday.
Jalen Hurts Last Two Games
On the other side of the ball, the Eagles addressed their defensive holes prior to the trade deadline. They brought in Jaelan Phillips to strengthen their pass rush, and Michael Carter II to solidify their secondary. Nolan Smith is expected to return from injury, and they also coaxed Brandon Graham out of retirment.
That’s bad news for a Packers offense that is one of the most frustrating to watch. They have all the talent in their world, but they can’t get out of their own way. Jordan Love has a rocket for an arm and is deadly accurate. Yet, Matt LaFleur refuses to take the training wheels off. Green Bay throws the ball behind the line of scrimmage at an extreme rate, and runs far too often when they’re behind the chains. The result, is an offense that can’t put teams away.
Life won’t get any easier on Monday Night Football for two reasons. One, is the additions the Eagles have made to their roster. The second, is the amount of injuries Green Bay’s offense is dealing with. Tucker Kraft, arguably their most important weapon, is out for the season. He leads the team in receiving yards, touchdown receptions, and yards after the catch.
In addition to Kraft, the Packers will also be without rookie wideout Matthew Golden. Don’t forget Jayden Reed is already on IR, and Dontayvion Wicks hasn’t played in weeks. That means Love is down four of his top five receivers. You can’t beat many teams missing that much talent, and you won’t beat this version of the Eagles. Give my Philadelphia to win outright as my favorite Eagles vs Packers pick.
