The Bills (7-3, 2-2 away) vs Texans (5-5, 3-2 home) contest got some cold water dumped on it with the news that CJ Stroud won’t suit up. Stroud is still dealing with concussion symptoms, paving the way for another Davis Mills start.

Mills is one of my favorite targets tonight in the Bills vs Texans player props market, as this game sets up much more favorably for the Houston rushing attack. On the other side, Josh Allen and James Cook headline one of the best offenses in football, but expectations should be tempered versus a fierce Texans D.

Bills vs Texans Player Prop Bet #1: Davis Mills Under 1.5 Touchdown Passes

I don’t love laying juice on any prop, but under 1.5 TD passes for Mills should be priced closer to -175. He’s thrown only three touchdowns in 120 attempts this season, and that’s despite facing bad pass defenses like the Jaguars and Titans.

The Bills defense is a polar opposite from those two, excelling versus the pass while bleeding production against the run. Buffalo is top-10 in EPA/pass allowed, but 31st in EPA/rush allowed. The Bills have surrendered just 10 TD passes all season, the fourth-fewest, compared to 17 rushing scores, which is the most in the NFL.

Bills vs Texans Player Prop Bet #2: James Cook Under 76.5 Rushing Yards

On to Cook now, who faces an extremely tough matchup versus the Houston run defense. The Texans rank ninth in EPA/rush allowed, while only the Jags have yielded fewer yards on the ground.

Cook meanwhile, has seen a serious dip in volume and efficiency over the last month. In three November games, he’s averaging just 3.83 yards per carry. He’s failed to clear 53 rushing yards in back-to-back outings, one of which was against the porous Dolphins run D.

Last week, in a similarly tough matchup against the Bucs, he was held to only 48 yards on 16 attempts. The Texans yield only 85.5 rushing yards per game, and will be able to contain Cook on TNF.

Bills vs Texans Anytime Touchdown Odds

Shifting over to the Bills vs Texans anytime touchdown props, where Allen has the shortest odds to score, followed by Cook. For what it’s worth, Houston has allowed only 8 rushing TD this season, and none to enemy quarterbacks.

Bills vs Texans Player Prop Bet #3: Woody Marks Anytime TD

A little further down the list is Marks, who’s in a smash spot. Not only have the Bills allowed a league-high 17 rushing TD, they’ve also been carved up by enemy backs in the passing game.

Sean Tucker got them for 34 yards and a score through the air last week, in addition to 106 yards and two TDs on the ground. Marks has taken over the Texans backfield and is a threat to score in both facets of the offense. Not only does he rank second on the team in total touchdowns, only Nico Collins has a higher yards per reception.
