Giants vs Patriots SGP Leg #1 – The Patriots Have Their Man at Quarterback

Most teams get a generational quarterback and then don’t get another one for 30 years. At least. Look at the Miami Dolphins. They’re still searching for Dan Marino’s replacement. And that’s not the Dolphins’ or Dan’s fault. It’s just how the football gods work.

But somehow, some way, the football gods skipped the New England Patriots to the front of the generational quarterback line when they gave them Drake Maye. He’s him.

Say what you want about the New England Patriots’ schedule this year. Is it easy? Of course it is. We’ve known that since it came out. This team won four games last season. Of course they were getting an easy schedule. But at the end of the day, all they can do is play who is on the schedule and beat them. That is what they’ve done so far this season.

The reason they are 10-2 so far is Drake Maye. He’s played at an unreal level all season long and might end up being the NFL MVP. That’s crazy. It’s also bad for the Giants because they’ll give it up through the air. So far this season, they’re 23rd in the entire league in opponent passing yards per game. That’s bad when you’re up against a beast like Maye.

For that reason, we can just buy the Patriots down to -2.5 and feel good about that. They’ve covered that line in each of their last three games, so we know they can do it. Feels easy.

NYG vs NE Same-Game Parlay Leg #2 – Jaxson Dart Is No Slouch

Here’s the thing about this game: it’s not just Drake Maye. We’ve got another quarterback on the other sidelines that isn’t so bad himself. Obviously, he’s not vying for an NFL MVP Award, but Jaxson Dart has proven he belongs in this league. On top of that, the guy is just fun.

According to Adam Schefter, he’s finally back from his injury and will start tonight.

Honestly, if Dart weren’t playing tonight, it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. After all, we got a few weeks of Jameis Winston because of Dart getting hurt. We should all be grateful for that. Still, we don’t want anyone to be out because of injury. We’re not dirtbags.

The thing is, Dart is just as fun as Jameis, so there’s that. The Giants’ offense moves with either guy at the helm, so there is that, too. Over their last nine games, the Giants have scored at least 14 points in every single one of them. They can and will move the ball, but they’ll give up points on the other end, which makes it tough for them to cover 2.5 points.

By parlaying the Giants’ team total with the Patriots to cover 2.5, we don’t get dinged too much odds-wise. It’s hard to say what the true odds for this bet should be, but +104 is more than fair if you ask me. Especially since we’re looking at a 27-17 type of game. Feels easy.
