The Gasparilla Bowl brings us a fun Friday matchup between the Memphis Tigers (10-2) and NC State Wolfpack (6-6) at Raymond James Stadium. The Wolfpack have seen a dramatic line swing, moving from opening underdogs to -3.5 favorites, giving us plenty to dig into on the player props side.
I’m targeting skill players from both teams here: Memphis lead back Greg Desrosiers Jr. and dual-threat QB Brendon Lewis to find paydirt, plus NC State RB Jayden Scott to have a big day on the ground with Hollywood Smothers opting out.

Memphis vs NC State Player Props
Jayden Scott leads the board as the shortest-priced TD scorer at -135, with Cortez Braham Jr. right behind at -130. Greg Desrosiers Jr. and Will Wilson sit at -110, implying around a 52% chance to score.
The plus-money range offers some interesting looks, with Brendon Lewis at +110 and Justin Joly at +120 both carrying implied probabilities around 45%. Further down, Frank Peasant at +225 implies just a 31% chance to score despite finding the end zone in 7 of 12 games this year.
On the yardage side, Scott’s 79.5 rushing line stands out with Smothers opting out. Cortez Braham leads all receivers with a 69.5 receiving line, while Terrell Anderson (49.5) and Jamari Hawkins (40.5) are the next highest. Desrosiers has props on both sides at 41.5 rushing and 19.5 receiving, and Lewis matches him at 41.5 on the ground.

Memphis vs NC State Player Props Bet #1: Greg Desrosiers Jr. Anytime TD
Desrosiers is the clear lead back for Memphis after the Tigers lost Mario Anderson (18 TDs) and Brandon Thomas (9 TDs) from last year’s squad. He’s absorbed all the goal-line work, and it shows in his numbers.
Desrosiers has racked up seven rushing TDs this season with another receiving score, giving him eight total TDs in 10 games. That’s a 60% TD rate, which makes the -110 price look pretty reasonable.
Desrosiers 2025 Stats
Even when his yardage dipped in recent weeks (averaging 34.8 rushing yards over the last five games), he kept finding the end zone and scored in three straight games at one point. The red zone role is locked in.
His dual-threat involvement keeps him on the field too. He’s hauled in 32 catches on 40 targets, which means he’s not coming off for passing downs. More snaps in scoring situations equals more TD opportunities.
Memphis vs NC State Player Props Bet #2: Brendon Lewis Anytime TD
Lewis at +110 is one of the better values on the board. He’s piled up nine rushing TDs on 141 carries, making him one of the most dangerous goal-line QBs in the AAC. He’s scored in 58% of his games this season.
His rushing TD totals have climbed every year of his career, from 2 at Colorado in 2021 to 4 at Nevada in 2023 to 8 last year to 9 this season. Memphis clearly trusts him to punch it in when they get close.
Lewis 2025 Stats
With 24 total TDs through 12 games, he’s averaging 2 TDs per contest. The 69.7% completion rate and 7.5 YPA are career-best numbers, so he’s making better decisions than he did at Colorado or Nevada. That translates to more sustained drives and scoring opportunities.
Getting plus odds on a guy who scores in nearly 60% of his games? There’s value there.
Memphis vs NC State Player Props Bet #3: Jayden Scott Over 79.5 Rushing Yards
Hollywood Smothers opting out changes everything for Scott. He’s no longer the backup splitting carries; he’s the guy now.
We saw what Scott can do with a full workload against Georgia Tech. He took 24 carries for 196 yards and a TD (8.2 YPC) when Smothers was out. That’s the kind of volume he’s in line for again with Smothers gone for good.
Scott 2025 Stats
The efficiency spikes when he gets volume. On 10+ carries, Scott has averaged 8.5 YPC (89 yards on 10 carries vs Campbell, 196 on 24 vs Georgia Tech). On 3-8 carries, he’s in the 3.3-5.4 YPC range. He’s a rhythm runner who gets better with more touches.
The math is simple: if Scott gets 15-20 carries, he only needs 4.0-5.3 YPC to clear 79.5. His season average is 5.6 YPC, and he’s shown he can pop 8+ when given the rock. With no one else on the depth chart capable of handling feature-back volume, 20+ carries feels like the floor.
Memphis vs NC State Parlay
Let’s tie it together with a 3-leg same-game parlay at +406.
Both teams are elite in the red zone (92%+ conversion rates), so when they get close, they’re cashing in. Desrosiers scores in 60% of his games, Lewis scores in 58%, and Scott is about to inherit a workhorse role with Smothers opting out.
Memphis’s +9 turnover differential means the Tigers are going to get extra cracks at the end zone, likely with short fields after forcing NC State mistakes. The Wolfpack will need to lean on Scott to control the clock and keep Memphis’s offense off the field.
They’re far from National Championship odds contenders, but this bowl game sets up nicely for all three guys to produce.
