The Week 17 Christmas triple-header concludes with a crucial game for the 12-3 Broncos, who are in search for the #1 seed in the AFC, against their bitter rival Chiefs. The Broncos are tied with the Patriots for top spot in the conference, and will earn the first round playoff bye with victories over Kansas City and the Chargers.
There’s a lot of money to be made in NFL props, and I’ve compiled my three favorite DEN vs KC player-prop bets, below, including a touchdown-scorer bet in the Week 17 odds. With Patrick Mahomes and Gardner Minshew on IR, the Chiefs are calling on third stringer Chris Oladokun at the pivot position, and leading WR Rashee Rice was put on IR.
Broncos vs Chiefs Player Props
The Broncos are the third choice in the Super Bowl odds, along with the Bills, at +900, while the Chiefs have been eliminated from postseason contention.

Broncos vs Chiefs Player Prop #1: Bo Nix Over 226.5 Passing Yards
For my first prop, I have my sights firmly set on Bo Nix tossing for 227 or more passing yards. After a slow start to the campaign, where he didn’t toss for 206 yards in his first three contests, he’s picked it up of late. The Broncos pivot has thrown for at least 295 yards in four of his last five affairs, including against these very Chiefs in Week 11.
His previous start against KC in Week 18 last season, he had even more yards (321) with four TD passes. The Broncos should have possession with the ball more than usual, given that the Chiefs are down to their third string QB in Chris Oladokun, who is in an incredibly difficult position against the fifth best scoring defense. I’m banking on Nix popping off and blowing over his yardage total.
- Bo Nix Over 226.5 Passing Yards (-115 at BetRivers)
DEN vs KC Prop Pick #2: Kareem Hunt Over 17.5 Rushing Yards
For my next prop I’m going with Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt to do something he’s done every time in seven career attempts versus Denver – rush for at least 18 yards. For those instances, Hunt has averaged 52.6 yards per game versus the Broncos. In an effort to ease the burden on QB Chris Oladokun, KC will presumably attempt to rush more to get the offense going.
Though he’s had a tough last two outings, Hunt had reached the 18+ yard threshold in twelve straight skirmishes. He’s in tough against the Broncos rush D, though they’ve averaged allowing ten more yards on the ground on the road, where they’ll be Thursday night.
- Kareem Hunt Over 17.5 Rushing Yards (-110 at BetRivers)
Broncos vs Chiefs Touchdown Scorer Props
Moving over to the Broncos vs Chiefs touchdown scorer props, RJ Harvey has the shortest odds to record a TD at -120. The player most likely to find the end zone for Kansas City is Travis Kelce at +400.
Broncos vs Chiefs Prop Pick #3: Courtland Sutton Anytime TD
For an anytime touchdown scorer, I might as well pair up Bo Nix having a strong night with his arm with his top wideout hauling in a TD – Courtland Sutton.
Sutton has found paydirt in three of his last four times suiting up on the campaign, and four of his last five duels against the Chiefs. He can be found at a reasonable +175 price on Bet365, which is longer than other books that have him around the +130 range.
After earning a Pro Bowl nod for his work (69 rec, 972 yds, 7 TD’s), I expect him to have another strong battle against his bitter AFC West rivals.
