Christmas is by far the best holiday on the schedule. It’s the top dog. Ask anybody. Generally speaking, it’s the one where being together is prioritized by every family. On top of that, it’s the holiday when the NFL and NBA do their best to give us their best games. The NFL dropped the ball a little, but the NBA rolled out a five-star schedule like they always do. To celebrate, I’m thinking we throw in a little five-leg parlay for us and all of our families to sweat out together. It’s like the old saying, “families that gamble together, stay together.” The best way to do this is to grab one guy from each game. That way, the fun can last all day and night. Lucky for us, I’ve already grabbed my guys and locked them in. We’re all going to be rich (probably)! Merry Christmas!

NBA Parlay Leg #1 – KAT Gets Us Started
In order to get to the second leg of a parlay, we have to win the first leg. It’s been like that since the beginning of time. For that reason, the first leg of this parlay is the most important one. We literally have to win this leg or our Christmas is ruined.
Lucky for us, this game is in New York, and our guy Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the reasons to love New York.
Here’s the deal: this game is at noon Eastern time, so it’s an early one. We should see a ton of missed shots, and whenever there is a missed shot, there are rebounds. That’s just science. Our guy KAT is a rebounding machine on top of being a scorer. We know for a fact he’s getting us 10+ points, so why just throw in 10+ rebounds as well? That’s called a double-double on the streets, and KAT has recorded one of those in three of his last four games. He’ll get another one on Christmas.
NBA Parlay Leg #2 – Devin Vassell Keeps Us Rolling
We’re going to need to keep winning if we expect to get to the late game tonight. That’s just how parlays work. For a game like the Spurs and Thunder, we might need to get away from scorers and look at rebounders. There is going to be a ton of missed shots in this game. The D from both of these two teams is just too strong.
One guy who has been cleaning the glass for the Spurs is Devin Vassell.
I’m guessing Dan Campbell has them ready for this game. I know it’s on the road, but it’s not like the Lions have terrible home-road splits. They’ve beaten the Ravens, Bengals, and Commanders on the road so far this season, so there is that. Those teams aren’t exactly good, but neither are the Minnesota Vikings.
NBA Parlay Leg #3 – Steph Won’t Let Us Down On Christmas Day
Great news, if we get to this leg, this thing is hitting. We’ve got nothing but superstars from here on out, and all we’re asking them to do is what they do. We won’t be needing a Christmas Miracle for these last three moves.
We’re literally asking the “Messiah of the Long Ball” to hit a few threes for us.
Here’s the thing with Steph Curry: he takes a million threes a game. It’s noticeable. The key number for us is 10. If Steph takes 10+ threes, he’ll hit at least four of them. I’m serious. So far this season, if Curry has taken 10+ three-point attempts, he’s hit at least four every single time. On Christmas Day, with everyone watching, he has to take at least 10+ three-pointers. Feels right.
NBA Parlay Leg #4 – KD Still Has It
We’re on to the Rockets/Lakers, and that can only mean one thing: Kevin Durant. The people are still mad at Kevin from the other night when he didn’t step on the floor in the fourth quarter. That caused everyone to lose his 25+ points prop, but we real ones know that sets up well for Christmas Night playing time.
We all know what Kevin can do with playing time. He’s still one of the best scorers I’ve ever seen.
Here’s the rub with this one: the Lakers can’t stop small forwards. Over the last five games, they’ve allowed 31+ points to the position, which is the most in the NBA. Does that mean Durant will definitely go for 25+ points? Of course not. But when we consider it’s Kevin, on rest, in a nationally televised game, we have to think 25+ is inevitable. Feels easy.
NBA Parlay Leg #5 – Joker Hits Threes
If we make it this far, we’ve had an incredible day. To be right on four separate games to get us here is just glorious. We should all be proud of ourselves. But, we can’t get too proud. We didn’t make this bet just to get close. We want to bring it home, which is exactly why we need Nikola Jokic.
For some reason, the books gave us his made threes line at 1.5 for short money, so we need to take it. He could easily cash this in the first quarter.
The thing about made threes is they’re tricky. The guy you take has to actually take a three-pointer to make one, which isn’t as easy as it sounds. Lucky for us, we’ve got a good matchup for Joker to bomb a few threes. Over the last five games, the Minnesota Timberwolves are bottom 10 in the NBA in threes allowed to centers. The last time these two teams met, Joker hit from deep three times. We only need two in order to cash this. Feels easy.
