The Houston Texans (10-5) invade Los Angeles to battle the LA Chargers (11-4, clinched playoffs) on Saturday afternoon (1:30 pm PT/4:30 ET). A victory or tie by Houston will have the Texans in the postseason.

There’s a lot of money to be made in today’s NFL player props, and I’ve compiled my three favorite HOU vs LAC player-prop bets, below, including a touchdown-scorer bet.

The Texans are +1500 in the Super Bowl odds, while the Chargers are not far behind at +2000.

Texans vs Chargers Player Prop #1: Dalton Schultz Over 4.5 Receptions

For my first prop, I’m going with C.J. Stroud’s trusty tight end Dalton Schultz to have a big day. He has 75 catches (on 98 targets) on the season, the most of any Houston player. He’s also reached the five reception threshold in six of his last eight affairs and ten of 15 duels on the year.

Initially I had wanted to select Schultz’s yardage total for over 42.5, but him accomplishing that hasn’t been as much of a certainty, failing to do so in three of his last five battles. However, him catching a lot of passes as Stroud’s safety blanket is still something that happens a lot, even if he doesn’t always put up gaudy yardage totals.

  • Dalton Schultz over 4.5 receptions (-126 at DraftKings)

HOU vs LAC Prop Pick #2: Omarion Hampton Over 14.5 Rushing Attempts

For my next prop I’m going with Chargers running back Omarion Hampton to have at least 15 carries in what should be a defensive struggle. With Houston being a top-four rushing D unit (96.2 YPG) and a top-five passing D (178.1 YPG), it truly is pick your poison for opposing offenses.

The Chargers talented rookie running back Hampton has really come into his own after returning from a fractured ankle that caused him to miss seven contests. His last two duels Hampton has carried the ball for 16 and 15 times, which would satisfy this prop selection. If both teams play ball control, knowing it’ll be a defensive duel, Hampton could get more carries to blow over the total.

  • Omarion Hampton Over 14.5 Rushing Yards (-125 at FanDuel)

Moving over to the Texans vs Chargers touchdown scorer props, Omarion Hampton has the shortest odds to record a TD at +140. The player most likely to find the end zone for Houston is Woody Marks at +165.

Texans vs Chargers Prop Pick #3: Quentin Johnston Anytime TD

For an anytime touchdown scorer, I’ve decided to aim for a bit more value in selecting Quentin Johnston to find the end zone at +310.

He has eight receiving TD’s on the campaign, most of anyone competing, and has odds longer than the top-six players on the board. He certainly can be frustratingly inconsistent, though Johnston has found pay dirt in two of his last three outings and three of the last six.

Last week versus Dallas, QJ popped off for his first 100 yard performance of the campaign, to go along with a touchdown. Given that his odds are pretty solid at +310, I’m willing to gamble he has another strong affair.
