Penn State vs Clemson Player Prop #1: Cade Klubnik Passing Yards
Penn State’s defense will look a lot different on Saturday. With defensive tackle Zane Durant, end Zuriah Fisher and two starters in the secondary (Zakee Wheatley and AJ Harris) opting-out, the Nittany Lions are sure to be vulnerable defensively. Especially if linebacker Amare Campbell, edge rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton and tackle Alonzo Ford Jr. also sit.
That sets up Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik for a solid sendoff. Klubnik has averaged 244 passing yards per game over his last five, which includes a blowout against Furman in which he threw just 15 passes.
Penn State’s defense ranked an average 46th by EPA against the pass this season. But, without most of their starting defensive line, the Nittany Lions will struggle to get pressure on Klubnik. Giving a quarterback of his prestige and experience time in the pocket will allow the Tigers’ passing attack to get rolling, even without their top weapons.
Back Cade Klubnik to go over 240.5 passing yards in the Pinstripe Bowl.
- Pick: Cade Klubnik over 240.5 passing yards (-114)
Penn State vs Clemson Player Prop #2: Trebor Pena Receiving Yards
Nittany Lions receiver Trebor Pena has failed to exceed 38.5 receiving yards in seven of his last nine games. He’s averaging just 31 receiving yards per game in that timespan. While Clemson has a number of high-profile opt-outs, corner AJ Terrell is the only significant member of the starting secondary who will miss the Pinstripe Bowl.
As such, don’t expect Pena to have much room to roam. His increased production against Indiana has been an aberration, as Pena has failed to impress for most of the year. Bet on that to continue on Saturday.
- Pick: Trebor Pena under 38.5 receiving yards (-114)
Penn State vs Clemson Same-Game Parlay
Expect Clemson to win the Pinstripe Bowl handily. In the only game that comes close to the amount of upheaval Penn State is going through, both in the locker room and along the sidelines, the Nittany Lions gave up 540 points and 38 points to Ole Miss in the 2023 Peach Bowl.
Look for Randall to run rampant, and score at least once to cash our Penn State vs Clemson same-game parlay. Klubnik and the Clemson offense will have a field day against a Penn State defense decimated by opt-outs and without the depth of the Tigers.
