- Super Bowl 60 between the Seahawks and Patriots is the last chance for DFS players to win big money this season.
- Since it’s a standalone game, Super Bowl 60 must be played as a “Showdown Captain Mode” lineup on DraftKings.

Well, folks, we’ve made it to the end of the 2025-26 NFL season. Super Bowl 60 between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots is all that’s left separating us from a long offseason with no football.
What’s unique about Sunday’s big game is that you have to play it as a “Showdown Captain Mode” contest on DFS lineup apps like DraftKings. That means that you pick a “captain” that scores 1.5x their point totals and then 5 other players to round out your lineups.

Best DFS Lineup for Super Bowl 60
Here’s the lineup I’m going with for Sunday’s big game. Yes, it’s more Seattle-heavy, which is by design, as I think the Seahawks will win the game:
- Captain: AJ Barner, Seattle TE
- Player: Seattle D/ST
- Player: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle WR
- Player: Sam Darnold, Seattle QB
- Player: Rhamondre Stevenson, New England RB
- Player: Hunter Henry, New England TE
Why no Drake Maye? I don’t trust his shoulder. He has reportedly been dealing with a shoulder injury. If that limits him at all, I don’t want him in my lineup. I’m willing to take the risk to omit him from my lineup, especially with how good the Seahawks’ defense has been (No. 1 in the NFL this season).
I toyed with the idea of making the Seattle D/ST my captain (more on that in a second), but I decided to go with AJ Barner for a couple of reasons. First, I think both teams will be a bit conservative in the first half, which means the tight ends should be active. That’s why I have Hunter Henry in my lineup, too. If Maye’s shoulder isn’t 100%, he’ll be looking for short, safe throws, especially early. That’s Henry’s forte.
Barner has taken on an even bigger function in the offense after RB Zach Charbonnet went down with a knee injury earlier this postseason. I think he could be a major target in the red zone. I need Barner to score a touchdown (or 2) to make this captain pick worthwhile, but I think he can do it.
Elsewhere, Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a no-brainer. Yes, 85% of the field will probably be playing JSN in their lineups, but I’m willing to eat that chalk. I don’t want to get burned when he goes for 7 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. I am willing to save money by not having him as my captain and hoping Barner can have a solid showing, though.
If I’m having JSN and Barner in my lineup, it makes sense to have Sam Darnold in there, too. Since I don’t have JSN as my captain, I have the budget to slot Darnold into the lineup. He’ll be throwing to Barner and JSN, so that helps double up on points when they have success.
And finally, Rhamondre Stevenson has seen his workload increase in each playoff game this year. He should continue to be the bell cow for the New England rushing attack, so I’ll give him a spot in my lineup as a volume play.
2 other potential captain picks
Not a fan of AJ Barner? Here are 2 other potential plays for your captain spot:
1. Seattle D/ST
If you think that this will be a low-scoring game and agree with most folks out there that the Seahawks are likely to win the game, getting the Seahawks D/ST as your captain for a bargain price of $6,600. That frees you up to play some more expensive options.
However, it’s worth noting that if you choose the Seattle D/ST as your captain, you’ll probably want to limit the number of Patriots you have in your lineup. Every point the Patriots’ offense scores hurts the Seattle D, after all.
An added bonus to making the Seattle D/ST your captain is the “/ST” part — it means you get access to the explosive Rashid Shaheed in the return game. He’s capable of breaking off a big return and finding the end zone. If he does that, it would be a big score for the Seattle D/ST.
2. Mack Hollins, New England WR
If you want to be a real sicko and save some money with your captain spot, Hollins is an intriguing play. He returned from injury in the AFC Championship Game and caught 2 passes for 51 yards. He’d probably need to find the end zone to make his captaincy viable, but he’s capable of doing that.
Plus, if you think the Patriots are going to win the Super Bowl, choosing Hollins as your captain allows you to play the following lineup:
- Captain: Mack Hollins, New England WR
- Player: Stefon Diggs, New England WR
- Player: Drake Maye, New England QB
- Player: Rhamondre Stevenson, New England RB
- Player: New England D/ST
- Player: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle WR
Hollins, the Patriots’ defense and then the biggest stars in the game? Sign me up. I mentioned Rashid Shaheed as a return threat on the Seattle side. Well, Marcus Jones is just as good on the Patriots’ side.
