Just one game remains in the NFL season: the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots will battle for the Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl 60 this Sunday, February 8th, at Levi’s Stadium (home of the San Francisco 49ers) in Santa Clara, California.
Below, I have set out the specifics for the biggest football game of the season, including the Seahawks vs Patriots start time and how to watch Super Bowl 60.
What Time Is the Super Bowl?
This question isn’t as straightforward as it sounds. The scheduled kickoff time is 3:30 pm PT/6:30 pm ET, the same as it’s been for decades. But don’t believe it. At least, not precisely. The specified 6:30 time is the start time for the main Super Bowl broadcast, not the start of the actual game.
The first kick of the game won’t actually happen until well after the stated start time. Last year, kickoff wasn’t until about 6:37 pm ET. No sporting event has more pomp and ceremony than the Super Bowl, and that pushes the start time back by 10-15 minutes every year.
