Canada will try to make it two blowouts in two days when it faces Switzerland on Friday afternoon at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Puck drop is set for 3:10 pm ET from the Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena in Milan, Italy, with TSN and Peacock providing the broadcast coverage.

Both teams opened with shutout wins on Thursday: Canada cruised past Czechia 5-0, while Switzerland blanked France 4-0. But Friday’s matchup is a completely different animal for the Swiss.

Online sportsbooks have Canada as massive road favorites in the latest Olympic hockey odds, and I don’t think there’s much to argue with there. Check out my full Canada vs Switzerland prediction below, along with the latest odds and best bets.

I’m not touching the Canada moneyline at -900, and I don’t think you should either. But laying 2.5 goals at -155 is a different story entirely.

Canada’s opener against Czechia was dominant from the jump. Macklin Celebrini, the youngest player on the roster at 19, opened the scoring late in the first period off a Cale Makar point shot. From there, the floodgates opened. Mark Stone, Bo Horvat, Nathan MacKinnon and Nick Suzuki all found the back of the net, while Connor McDavid dished out three assists.

The most impressive part? 11 different Canadians recorded at least one point. This isn’t a top-heavy team that relies on one line. Sidney Crosby is skating on the third line, and that group with Mitch Marner and Stone looked dangerous all game. When your depth is that absurd, it’s nearly impossible for opponents to match up.

The goaltending edge is notable. Logan Thompson is expected to get the start for Canada after Jordan Binnington posted the shutout on Thursday. Thompson has been one of the NHL’s best this season with Washington, posting a .912 save percentage and 2.45 GAA across 39 starts. He hasn’t posted a GAA above 3.00 in any month this year.

On the other side, Akira Schmid will likely draw in for Switzerland. He carries a .895 save percentage and 2.53 GAA with Vegas this season. Over his final four starts before the Olympic break, Schmid posted a 1-2-1 record with an .880 save percentage. That was against standard NHL competition, and now he has to face what amounts to an All-Star lineup.

Switzerland does have some elite NHL talent. Roman Josi is a former Norris Trophy winner, and Nico Hischier is a consistent 30-goal scorer. Timo Meier potted two goals against France and has been a 40-goal man in the past. Kevin Fiala was arguably Switzerland’s most dangerous forward in the opener, using his speed and skill to create chances all game.

But there’s a massive drop-off after those top guys. Canada’s lineup goes four lines deep with legitimate NHL stars, and they also have the edge on the power play. McDavid, MacKinnon and Crosby were all on the same unit against Czechia, and that first power play group is borderline unfair.

Canada has now won 11 consecutive Olympic games with NHL players, and they’ve gone over 224 minutes without surrendering a goal in Olympic best-on-best play. The Swiss will put up more of a fight than France did, but they don’t have the depth to hang with Canada for a full 60 minutes. I expect the Canadians to build an early lead and pull away in the final 40 minutes.

The puck line is where the real action is in this game. You can grab Canada -2.5 at -155 over at BetMGM, while FanDuel has the spread at -1.5 (-325) if you want to lay heavy juice for more security.

The total sits at 6 goals, with most books hovering around -105 on the over and -115 on the under.

Canada vs Switzerland Best Bets

MacKinnon scored on the power play against Czechia, burying a filthy feed from McDavid. He was the primary offensive driver for Canada all game, and he’s listed at -102 in some spots but as high as +120 at DraftKings.

Either way, I love the value on a guy who has access to McDavid and Crosby on the man advantage against Schmid’s .895 save percentage.

McDavid had three assists in the opener and was all over the ice from his very first shift. He led all Canadian forwards in ice time against Czechia. With most of this roster having played together at last year’s 4 Nations Face-Off, the chemistry is already there.

Against a Swiss team that can’t match Canada’s speed, I fully expect another multi-point game from the best player on the planet.

Canada vs Switzerland How to Watch
