Anaheim (87 points) sits second in the Pacific but is in free fall, having dropped five straight games. The Ducks are still without leading scorer Cutter Gauthier (38 goals) and have a banged-up bottom six, forcing Joel Quenneville to lean on rookies Beckett Sennecke and the Leo Carlsson line.

Nashville (82 points) is clinging to the third wild card spot in the NHL playoff bracket and is desperate for points. The Predators are 3-1 as a road underdog over their last four.

Predators vs Ducks Predictions

• Total bet: Over 6.5 Goals (-120 at DraftKings)

The over is the play for my Predators vs Ducks prediction. It’s hit in all four of Anaheim’s last four games, all four of their last four at home, and six of their last seven as a favorite. Both teams are allowing more than three goals per game, and neither projected starter sits above .900.

Justus Annunen (.897 SV%, 2.90 GAA) goes for Nashville and Lukas Dostal (.890 SV%, 3.09 GAA) gets the call for Anaheim. Two sub-.900 netminders against two offenses pushing the pace down the stretch is the perfect recipe for a high-scoring night.

Nashville’s power play is the biggest mismatch, clicking at 22.8% against an Anaheim penalty kill at 77.3%. The Preds also win the faceoff battle (50.5% to 47.6%). Anaheim fires 30.51 shots per game, which is exactly the kind of volume that fuels overs.
