At the start of the year, you’d think a Steph Curry vs Kawhi Leonard postseason showdown would certainly be a best-of-seven playoff series. Instead, it’s the Western Conference 9th-vs-10th Play-In Tournament game where the loser goes home.
Online sportsbooks expect Curry to be the future Hall-of-Famer who sees his season cut short, pegging the Clippers as 5.5-point favorites over the Warriors in the NBA odds. I’m in total agreement, and will be betting LAC tonight to cover the number in my Warriors vs Clippers best bets.

The big reason why I’m betting LAC against the spread is due to the fact that Curry will be on a minutes restriction tonight. Despite Golden State’s season being on the line, head coach Steve Kerr has publicly state that Curry, along with Kristaps Porzingis and Al Hortford will all play less than 40 minutes.
That’s problematic for the Warriors, because their offensive efficiency craters when Curry is off the floor. Without a legit secondary option, don’t forget Jimmy Butler is out with a torn ACL, Golden State’s offensive rating drops nearly 10 points per 100 possessions sans Curry. We simply can’t count on names like Brandon Podziemski, Gary Payton II or Gui Santos to replace Curry’s production, but even when Steph is on the court the Clippers have a flurry of solid defenders they can throw at him.
First and foremost is Kawhi, who is still one of the best 1-on-1 defenders in the NBA when he’s locked in. Then you have rangy bigs and wings like Derrick Jones Jr. and Kris Dunn who can both wreak havoc on the Warriors timing and efficiency.
Clippers Last 3 Games vs Warriors
At the other end, the Clippers offense doesn’t compare to that of the elite NBA Championship odds contenders, but it’s still good enough to put this Golden State team away. Darius Garland is fitting in very nicely as the team’s number one point guard, and LAC quietly ranked 11th in offensive rating over the final 10 games of the season.
Golden State meanwhile, was bottom-10 in defensive rating during the same stretch, dropping seven of their final eight contests of the regular season. Five of those seven losses were by 7+ points, with three double-digit defeats mixed in there. The Clippers beat them 115-110 just three days ago without Kawhi, and you can bet his presence in this game will propel LAC to a convincing victory.
Warriors vs Clippers Odds
Moving over to the Warriors vs Clippers odds, where DraftKings is the top place to bet LAC against the spread. They’re offering the Clippers -5.5 at -105 odds, which is currently the best price in market.
Total-wise, your betting site of choice will vary depending on what side of the number you like. FanDuel is offering a 221.5 point total, which is a point less than consensus making them the preferred choice to bet the over at. BetMGM is where you should be betting the under, as they have the shortest odds on under 222.5.
