Saturday’s NBA 1st Round playoff extravaganza continues in Denver, where the Nuggets host the T-wolves in the second contest of the four-game slate. This series is one of the most compelling on the board, and is sure to attract a ton of betting interest from both sharp and casual bettors alike.

Game 1 promises incredible action, headlined by the relentless two-way dominance of Nikola Jokic and the explosive scoring of Anthony Edwards. Both stars crack my list of T-Wolves vs Nuggets player props to target in Game 1, so keep reading for which markets I’m targeting them in and why.

My favorite NBA props bet for this contest is Jokic over 22.5 rebounds + assists. It’s a number he’s routinely exceeded this season, and he’s got a long track record of absolutely torching Minnesota. I’m also betting over 2.5 threes for Edwards. Yes, he’s dealing with a knee injury, but I expect him to be a full-go on Saturday.

It’s a shame one of these teams won’t make it out of the opening round, because both have the potential to be NBA Championship odds threats. Jokic and Edwards are two of the biggest stars in basketball, and both are primed for success in this contest.

Let’s start with Jokic. He averaged 13 rebounds and 11 assists per game this season, ranking number one in both categories. Throw in 28 points per game on 57% shooting and you would think that would be a season worthy of top spot in the NBA MVP odds. In most years it would be, but not when Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is operating at the peak of his powers.

Nikola Jokic Rebounds and Assists vs T-Wolves This Season

Jokic terrorizes every team he faces, but he’s been especially brutal on Minnesota. He put up a 56/16/15 stat line on them on Christmas Day, and averaged 15 rebounds and 11 assists versus Minny over four regular season games. He cleared 22.5 rebounds + assists in three of those outings, eclipsing the 29 reb + ast mark twice.

As for his recent performance, he’s been a stat stuffer in both categories. He’s cleared this 22.5 prop line in nine of the last 10 games he’s started and finished, and in 13 of the last 15 outings where he’s played 30+ minutes. He currently projects for north of 35 minutes of action in Game 1, making this wager a slam dunk.

Despite the heavy juice, Edwards is uniquely positioned to exploit one of Denver’s biggest defensive weaknesses on the floor. The Nuggets struggled to close out on shooters all season, allowing 13.6 three-pointers per game.

Edwards is a high-volume machine from beyond the arc. He is averaging 3.4 made threes per game this season, commanding a 30.6% usage rate since January 1st. He has gone over this 2.5 prop line in 7 of his last 11 games, which clears my 60% situational trend threshold.

The Wolves franchise star has also had a great run of success versus the Nuggets this season. He’s averaging over 30 points per game against them, coverting on over 48% of his field goal attempts.
