The NHL Playoff Bracket sees Minnesota up 1-0, after shockingly dismantling their Central Division rivals 6-1 on Saturday. Despite losing by five markers, online sportsbooks are siding with Dallas to recover in the Game 2 NHL odds, with Minnesota being road underdogs yet again.

Puck drop for this Western Conference affair is scheduled for 8:30 pm CT / 9:30 pm ET from the American Airlines Center, in Dallas, Texas. ESPN will handle broadcast duties across America, while Sportsnet will carry the game for Canadian viewers.

My favorite Wild vs Stars Game 2 prediction is that Dallas will bounce back in a big way after a gnarly opening salvo. These two teams are incredibly evenly matched, and I wouldn’t be surprised if either emerged victorious in the Stanley Cup odds.

Since 2021-22, Dallas is 2-9 in Game 1’s of series, but they’ve recovered to emerge victorious in Game 2 after six of those eight defeats, with the ninth to be decided Monday evening. On five occasions, Big D has won by multiple goals, and I’m bullish on them doing it again tonight. Additionally, of the last 15 wins against Minny, the Stars have been the better squad by at least two goals in a whopping 13 instances.

In Game 1 Saturday, Minnesota were possessed, with four players recording at least three points – Matt Boldy and Joel Eriksson Ek each had two goals and a helper, Kirill Kaprizov had one snipe and two assists, and Mats Zuccarello put up three apples. Jesper Wallstedt turned away 27 of 28 pucks in his playoff debut, as the Wild handed Dallas a humiliating defeat.

Minnesota has lost in the opening round in eight straight attempts, so they simply don’t make things easy on themselves. I do think they’ll light the lamp first, however, as the Stars have surrendered the opening marker in 19 of their last 23 playoff duels, despite making the Western Conference Final three straight campaigns.
