Bettors looking for a greater return on the home team can look to the runline, where laying 1.5 runs offers a plus-money payout of +110, courtesy of bet365. I am backing Detroit on the moneyline to take their second straight game after getting blown out 12-4 in the series opener.

Skubal has had one outlier in his last four starts, tagged for eight hits and four earned runs and failing to get out of the fifth inning in a 4-2 loss to the Twins. In his other three starts, he’s been his normal, dominant self, surrendering just three earned runs in over 20 innings of work in three starts, with 20 strikeouts against four walks.

He is currently sporting a stellar 2.08 ERA backed by a nearly identical 2.09 FIP. His elite command is on full display with a microscopic 1.78 BB/9, keeping traffic off the basepaths to maintain a sparkling 0.96 WHIP.

Skubal caught the Brew-Crew last year and put in some real work, scattering four hits across seven innings, with no walks and nine punchouts in a 9-1 win.
