Launched in January 2021, Michigan has 15 available iGaming licenses through 12 different Michigan tribes and three Detroit commercial casinos.
While the operators have shifted throughout the years, the revenue from iGaming has been on a consistent upward trend since 2021.

How Michigan Online Casinos are Taxed
Michigan online casinos are taxed on a sliding scale based on their monthly adjusted gross revenue. Rates are:
- 20%: Less than $4 million AGR
- 22%: Between $4 million and $8 million AGR
- 24%: Between $8 million and $10 million AGR
- 26%: Between $10 million and $12 million AGR
- 28%: $12 million and more
Online casinos and sportsbooks are regulated in Michigan by the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB).

Lifetime Michigan Online Casino Revenue by Operator
Michigan online casinos are licensed by 12 different tribal casino operators and three Detroit commercial casino operators. Each has been allowed to partner with one iGaming platform to provide real money casino games online. Those operators have changed in some instances, but no more than 15 can exist at one time.

Yearly Michigan Online Casino Revenue By Operator
The 15 different iGaming license holders and corresponding online casino operators have had varying ranges of success in the state of Michigan. Here’s a look at each operator’s revenue, year-by-year, since the state legalized and launched online casinos.
BetMGM Casino Michigan
To no surprise, BetMGM launched its online casino through the license owned by MGM Grand Detroit. The platform launched in January 2021 and has amassed the most iGaming revenue of anyone in the state.
FanDuel Casino Michigan
FanDuel arrived in Michigan in January 2021 through the license provided by MotorCity Casino in Detroit. Overall, FanDuel is second all-time in Michigan online casino revenue, but has recently surpassed BetMGM in the head-to-head yearly battle.
DraftKings Casino Michigan
One of the big splashes for the tribal casinos was Bay Mills Indian Community, operators of Bay Mills Resort & Casino, landing DraftKings as its iGaming operator starting in January 2021. It’s been a successful partnership, as DraftKings has amassed more online casino revenue than any other under a Michigan tribal license.
BetRivers Casino Michigan
BetRivers Casino launched in Michigan in January 2021 through the license provided by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, which operators Little River Casino Resort.
Caesars Palace Casino Michigan
The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians partnered up with Caesars for their iGaming. Operators of Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel, Leelanau Sands Casino & Lodge, and Crystal Shores Casino originally launched an all-in-one Caesars Sportsbook & Casino app in January 2021. However, in August 2023 Caesars released its standalone online casino app, Caesars Palace, while still also offering casino games on the Caesars Sportsbook app.
Golden Nugget Casino Michigan
Golden Nugget Casino debuted in Michigan in January 2021 through the license held by the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, operators of Ojibwa Casinos.
Hollywood Casino Michigan
Hollywood Casino is the online casino through Hollywood Casino at Greektown in Detroit. The PENN Entertainment owned property has cycled through multiple iGaming platforms in Michigan. The first was Barstool Sports, which operated a combined online casino and sportsbook until November 2023 when PENN made the shift to ESPN Bet, which also provided a combo sportsbook/casino app. In January 2025, the Hollywood Casino app launched in Michigan, which is a standalone online casino from PENN. While ESPN Bet was shifted to theScore Bet in December 2025, PENN maintained Hollywood Casino as its standalone iGaming platform.
Fanatics Casino Michigan
Fanatics Casino operates in Michigan through the license of the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, operators of Northern Waters Casino Resort. Originally, the tribe partnered with PointsBet in May 2021 for a combined online sportsbook & casino. In February 2024, Fanatics debuted in place of PointsBet. Originally Fanatics was also a combo sportsbook/casino app, but it released a standalone online casino app back in May 2025.
Horseshoe Casino Michigan
Horseshoe Casino is another Caesars brand that operates in Michigan through the license of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, operators of Kewadin Casinos. The tribe originally partnered with WynnBet in January 2021, but the online casino sold its rights to Caesars in February 2024, opening the door for Horseshoe to take over in October 2024.

Four Winds Online Casino
A tribal-branded online casino, the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians elected to launch their own platform. The owners of Four Winds Casinos around Michigan, launched Four Winds Online Casino in February 2021.
bet365 Casino Michigan
bet365 is the newest online casino in Michigan, launching in April 2026. The license held by the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, operators of Odawa Casinos, originally went to PokerStars in January 2021. It remained that way until 2026, when PokerStars closed its online casino operators, opening the door for bet365 to take over the license.
Hard Rock Bet Casino Michigan
Hard Rock Bet Casino holds the license held by the Hannahville Indian Community, operators of Island Resort & Casino. Hannahville has had quite a roller coaster of experiences before partnering with Hard Rock. Originally, in January 2021, Hannahville had its licensed issued to TwinSpires. Known more for horse racing, TwinSpires opted out of running a Michigan online Casino in September 2022. Hannahville then turned to Sports Illustrated, which launched its online casino in February 2023. That lasted until June 2025, when SI ceased operations in the state. It would take until December 2025 for Hard Rock Bet to take over the Hannahville license and launch in Michigan, opening with a record-setting debut of $35.7 million in its first month of operation.
Play Gun Lake (betPARX Casino MI)
Similar to Four Winds, the Gun Lake Band of Pottawatomi Indians, operators of Gun Lake Casino, elected to launch its own online casino platform, with a slight twist. It still partnered with betPARX to provide its gaming, but labeled the online casino “Play Gun Lake.” The Play Gun Lake iGaming platform launched in April 2021.
Eagle Casino & Sports
The last tribe to launch a Michigan online casino was the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, operators of Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort and Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel. It also elected to go with its own branded platform of Eagle Casino & Sports, which debuted in April 2022.
FireKeepers Online Casino
The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Pottawatomi Indians, operators of FireKeepers Casino, also opted to create their own online casino. FireKeepers iCasino debuted in Michigan in June 2021.
Detroit Casino Revenue Since 2021
Detroit has been home to three casinos for decades as the MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown currently exist in the Motor City.
These three casinos are subject to a 19% tax on their adjusted gaming revenue with 10.9% of that going to the city of Detroit, and the remaining 8.1% going to the state.

Michigan Tribal Casino Payments Since 2021
Revenue generated by tribal casinos isn’t fully disclosed to the public in Michigan. However, each year tribes that operate tribal casinos in the state are required to make a payment to the state that is 2% of their Class III gaming machine revenue for the year. Class III gaming includes the likes of slot machines, blackjack, roulette, and other table games. It makes up the vast majority of the casino revenue these tribal locations would produce.
