My favorite bet tonight is on the Habs moneyline. When looking at how these two teams stack up for this pivotal Game 5, the situational trends point to a clear edge for the visitors. Montreal is thriving as a road underdog, making them an incredibly enticing value pick at plus-money. They are a blistering 10-3 (.769) straight up on the road over their last 13 games. Even more impressive, they are 11-2 (.846) as an underdog over their last 13 contests. They have clearly found a formula that works away from the Bell Centre, combining opportunistic offense with gritty 5-on-5 defensive play.

Conversely, the Sabres have fallen off a cliff on home ice recently. They are just 1-3 (.250) at KeyBank Center over their last four games. Buffalo has struggled to string together momentum, going a dismal 1-4 (.200) at home after a win over their last five outings. They are also 1-3 (.250) overall against their Atlantic Division rivals over their last four meetings.

Moving over to the NHL props market, where I’ve cooked up a +640 same-game paray. In addition to betting the Habs, I’m also targeting over 0.5 points for Buffalo’s Josh Doan. The forward has been an offensive catalyst, recording a point in five straight games. He is averaging 1.4 points per game during that span. In this current playoff series alone, Doan has racked up an impressive six points (one goal, five assists) across four games.

I’ll tie the SGP together with over 1.5 shots on goal for Bowen Byram. He’s been ultra-aggressive from the blue line, frequently funneling pucks toward the net. He has exceeded 1.5 shots on goal in eight of his last 10 games, boasting a healthy 2.2 shots on goal per game average over that stretch. Through four games in this series, Byram has tallied seven shots on goal while averaging 20:59 of ice time. With his significant usage across all strengths, he should easily clear this modest threshold.
