In his second appearance of 2026, former lightweight title challenger Josh Padley (18-1) returns to the ring against British prospect Aqib Fiaz (14-1). Both fighters look to keep their respective win streaks alive in a featured spot as the main event of Saturday night’s lone boxing event on DAZN.
Padley and Fiaz were promoted to the main event after WBC interim flyweight champion Galal Yafai suffered an injury that forced him to withdraw from his scheduled unification bout with regular champion Ricardo Sandoval. The new-look eight-fight card goes down from the Utilita Arena Newcastle in England.
Josh Padley vs. Aqib Fiaz Prediction
- Josh Padley by decision (+105 on FanDuel)
Since his short-notice loss to Shakur Stevenson in February 2025, Josh Padley has looked like a fighter reborn, showing new wrinkles to his game each time out. The 30-year-old has strung together three consecutive victories since his unsuccessful title challenge, two of which came by impressive knockout.
Padley’s next challenge comes against the 26-year-old Aqib Fiaz, who enters the biggest night of his career just three fights removed from a momentum-halting stoppage loss to Reece Bellotti. Fiaz has since collected a pair of trivial wins to get back on the right track ahead of another big step up in competition.
While Fiaz has a solid fundamental base, it is about all he has in his arsenal. The Lancashire native is prone to long bouts of inactivity as he seeks counter opportunities, which continues to be his biggest mental obstacle. Fiaz likes to pick at subpar opponents at range but gets overwhelmed almost every time anyone strings together combinations against him.
The twitchy and feint-heavy Padley is a nightmare matchup for someone like Fiaz, who looked lost in his lone professional loss when Bellotti swarmed him from the gun. Padley can be inconsistent, but he will be too fast and too skilled for Fiaz.
Despite Padley’s recent string of stoppages, history suggests he will get the job done on the cards. Padley has just a 33 percent knockout rate in his professional career, which includes a handful of fights against overmatched opponents.

As the more proven and well-known boxer, Padley is a -450 favorite to improve to 19-1 against Fiaz. The betting odds give him a strong 81.8 percent implied win probability.
Fiaz is +300 to pull off the upset, loosely translating to a 25 percent implied win probability. The only other time Fiaz has been an underdog in his career was in his lone loss to Bellotti.
Padley vs. Fiaz Tale of the Tape
Padley and Fiaz post near-identical physical measurements, with the 26-year-old owning a one-inch height advantage. Fiaz does not have a publicly disclosed reach.
Padley has collected just six of his 18 professional wins by knockout, a subpar 33 percent knockout rate. However, five of his last six wins have come before the final horn.
Likewise, Fiaz has an even lower 14 percent knockout rate in his 15-fight career.
While Padley has just four more professional fights than Fiaz, he has faced much stiffer competition and has been more active in recent years. Fiaz has just four wins over fighters with a 70 percent win rate or higher at the time of their meeting.
