  • The Golden Knights are slight home favorites to win Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final Saturday
  • See the NHL player props and which skater I’m bullish on to get on the scoresheet for such a crucial tilt
  • Hurricanes vs Golden Knights odds, analysis and predictions for a pivotal swing Game 3

The Hurricanes and Golden Knights have played two classic games thus far in the Stanley Cup Final, with each team skating away with a victory. It’s just the second time in NHL playoff history that the first two games of a Stanley Cup Final have featured a multi-goal comeback – In Game 1, Vegas erased a 2-0 deficit to win 5-4, and in Game 2, the Canes returned the favor, coming back from down 2-0 in the third period to take it 4-3 in overtime. The home Golden Knights are slight favorites in the NHL odds for this one.

Puck drop is set for 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET in Las Vegas, Nevada, and you can watch it on ABC in the United States and Sportsnet in Canada. The Stanley Cup odds show that Carolina is the -128 favorite, despite being a road underdog in Game 3, with the Knights at +125. Keep reading for my predictions, analysis and player props picks for this duel.

Hurricanes vs Golden Knights Prediction & Best Bets

  • Best Bet: Hurricanes Moneyline (-108 at DraftKings)
  • Player Prop: Tomas Hertl Over 0.5 Points (+110 at DraftKings)

Carolina is a certified road machine. They’ve strung together a 13-2 straight-up run this postseason, losing only Game 1 to Montreal in the East Final and Game 1 to Vegas in the Cup Final. They’ve ripped off six consecutive road victories this postseason, as the favorite each time. This game they’re ever so slightly the underdogs, so there’s a tiny bit more value on them.

Vegas is no slouch, having been victorious in seven straight before the Game 2 letdown in overtime, but I’m valuing Carolina’s pedigree for the entire postseason over Vegas’ recent run. It’s a gift to be able to select a team that’s been as dominant as the Canes have been as an underdog, so don’t let that go to waste.

In the NHL Player Props, I’m looking at veteran Tomas Hertl as an offensive catalyst worth backing at plus-money. He’s lit the lamp or secured an assist in seven of his last nine overall games. Getting a player who has been so consistent in recent games at plus money really is an intriguing wager worth backing.
