The World Cup group stage continues with a six-game slate on Friday, June 27. This is the last matchday for another three groups, so fans will be treated to three sets of simultaneous kickoffs once again.
The schedule starts with Norway vs France and Senegal vs Iraq at 3:00 pm ET. Uruguay vs Spain and Cape Verde vs Saudi Arabia are next on the docket at 8:00 pm ET. Finally, New Zealand vs Belgium and Egypt vs IR Iran round out Thursday’s action at 11:00 pm ET.
I ran all six matches through our proprietary A.I. prediction model to get the computer’s top pick for each game. The table below summarizes the picks and the best-available prices. Under the table, I have included the rationale for each bet so readers can assess the model’s logic for themselves.
World Cup Picks, Predictions & Best Bets for June 26
The model is once again going heavy on the chalk. But hey, don’t fix it if it ain’t broke: heading into Thursday’s games, the model is 32-22 (+5.85 units on 1-unit wagers).
NOR vs FRA Computer Pick: France ML (61¢ at Kalshi)
A.I. rationale: “France are not a bargain-bin favorite, but 61¢ on the moneyline is still playable given their cleaner two-match profile. Les Bleus have recorded a +5 goal difference, scoring six times while conceding just once, and they have yet to allow a first-half goal.
Norway have attacking quality, but they have already conceded three goals in the tournament. With both sides capable of creating chances, the model gives the edge to the team with the more stable defensive floor. France to win outright is the preferred position over asking them to cover a multi-goal spread.”
SEN vs IRQ Computer Pick: Senegal Team Total Over 2.5 Goals (48¢ at Kalshi)
A.I. rationale: “Senegal are 79¢ on the moneyline, which is too expensive to recommend as the best bet. The model prefers moving into the team-total market, where 48¢ on Senegal over 2.5 goals offers a much better payout in a matchup they are expected to control.
Iraq have conceded seven goals through two matches, own a -6 goal difference, and have put only one shot on target in the tournament. Senegal have enough finishing talent to punish that profile, with Ismaila Sarr already on two goals and Sadio Mane and Nicolas Jackson each supplying an assist.”
URU vs ESP Computer Pick: Spain ML (66¢ at Kalshi)
A.I. rationale: “Spain are priced as a strong favorite, but 66¢ on the moneyline is still the cleanest way to play this matchup. La Roja have scored four goals without conceding through two matches, pairing a +4 goal difference with nearly 70% average possession and 17 shots on target.
Uruguay have generated shot volume, but they have also conceded three times already. Against a Spain side that can monopolize possession and limit transition windows, the model prefers the outright win to a spread position that requires a larger margin.”
CPV vs KSA Computer Pick: Under 2.5 Goals (55¢ at Kalshi)
A.I. rationale: “The Under 2.5 at 55¢ is supported by the underlying metrics of two teams that have struggled to sustain attacking pressure. Cape Verde are averaging just 30% possession, while Saudi Arabia are operating at a similarly low 35%.
The shot generation is equally limited. Cape Verde have managed 17 total shots, with five on target, through two matches. Saudi Arabia have mustered only 10 total shots, hitting the target four times. With neither attack showing consistent chance creation, the model expects a low-event game.”
NZL vs BEL Computer Pick: Belgium Team Total Over 2.5 Goals (55¢ at Kalshi)
A.I. rationale: “Belgium are 84¢ to win, which makes the moneyline difficult to recommend as the best value on the board. The model instead prefers 55¢ on Belgium to score over 2.5 goals, turning a lopsided matchup into a higher-upside team-total play.
Belgium have underperformed in front of goal so far, but the volume is still there: 37 total shots, 10 on target, and 60.5% average possession through two matches. New Zealand have already conceded five goals in two games, creating a positive-regression setup for the Red Devils’ attack.”
EGY vs IRN Computer Pick: Egypt ML (40¢ at Kalshi)
A.I. rationale: “Egypt offer the best plus-money position on the slate at 40¢ to win outright. The Egyptians enter this fixture with a +2 goal difference, scoring four goals while conceding two, while IR Iran sit with an even goal difference through two matches.
Egypt have also done more to dictate tempo, holding 51.5% average possession compared to IR Iran’s 39.5%. That edge on the ball has translated into stronger attacking volume, with Egypt generating 33 total shots and 11 on target, compared to 24 shots and seven on target for IR Iran. At plus-money pricing, the model sees Egypt ML as the best value.”
