One of the most electric boxing matches of the year goes down Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas as WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia looks to keep his world title intact against the UK’s Conor Benn.
This fight has all the makings of a potential barnburner with Garcia’s knockout prowess going to work against Benn’s aggressive, high-pressure style. With the WBC welterweight title on the line, both men are sure to come in at their peaks in a main event showdown that you can catch exclusively with a Paramount+ subscription.
Of course, you’ll want to get in on some the betting action when it comes this high-octane matchup and we’ve got you covered on all the details below.
Garcia vs. Benn Odds, Analysis & Prediction
While many on this side of the pond might have you believe that Garcia is a lock to win this fight, this is a far more competitive matchup than some think.
The 29-year-old Benn made his last ring appearance in April against former WBA and WBC junior welterweight champion Regis Prograis. Benn failed to finish his 37-year-old opponent, something many naysayers have held over his head since, but “The Destroyer” was also coming off a grueling pair of fights in 2025 against British rival Chris Eubank Jr. While he went 1-1 against Eubank Jr., these were intense battles for Benn both physically and mentally against a bigger man.
For Garcia, the 28-year-old finally captured his first major title when he beat Mario Barrios via unanimous decision to become the WBC welterweight champion in February. It hasn’t been an easy road for Garcia, however, as his April 2024 mega-fight with Devin Haney was ruled a no contest after a failed drug test. In May 2025, he suffered another setback after losing to Rolando “Rolly” Romero in a shocking upset at Times Square.
This is one of those fights I can see going two very different ways. Part of me thinks Benn will have too difficult of a weight cut to perform at his peak since this will mark his first fight at 147-pounds for him since April 2022. There is also another thought that if Benn can maintain the majority of his signature pressure fighting tactics against Garcia, the champ may fold. We saw Garcia go completely gun-shy after getting knocked down by Romero in the second round of their fight and while Benn might not carry the same power as Rolly, he’s certainly more explosive.
In the end, this comes down to what type of fight we’ll see from Garcia in many ways. If he gets cracked by Benn early and fails to engage for the remainder of the fight, there will be a WBC welterweight belt headed back to the UK. With that in mind, I think Garcia has learned enough from past mistakes, especially against Romero, to understand that he can’t shy away from the dog fight that Benn will want to drag him into.
I don’t think Garcia gets the finish, but he earns a hard-fought decision that will keep him in line for future unification bouts against fellow welterweight champions like Haney and Teofimo Lopez.
