The board shows Jean Silva as a massive betting favorite heading into this featherweight clash. Jose Delgado enters as a significant underdog despite his recent success.

David Martinez at -450 is the other heavy chalk on the main card, which pushes the value in that fight toward the round spread. Brandon Moreno vs. Joseph Morales is a true pick ’em at -110 each way, and it is the only fight on the main card the market cannot separate.

These numbers move fast on fight day, so it pays to have more than one account open. A BetMGM promo code or a theScore Bet promo code gives you two more places to shop the best available price on each side.

Silva vs Delgado Prediction

I get why the first instinct is violence, because Jean Silva and Jose Delgado both throw with real finishing intent. Yet, their combined fight IQ and technical prowess matters more, and this should settle into a technical kickboxing fight instead of an immediate firefight.

Silva has only gone over 2.5 rounds once in the UFC, but the Arnold Allen fight showed he can bank minutes without chasing bad spots. He landed 74 significant strikes at 54.41 percent accuracy and mixed in four takedowns on six attempts, which tells me he can win exchanges without forcing chaos. Silva has the power to end fights in an instant, but he has also shown the ability to win the long way.

Conversely, Delgado has already gone Over 2.5 in three of his five UFC fights, including decisions over Nathaniel Wood, Andre Fili and Austin Bashi. The Wood fight was wild, but Delgado still stayed composed enough to land 134 significant strikes across 15 minutes.

Against other technical strikers, both Silva and Delgado take measured approaches. Silva is slightly more dangerous everywhere, but both guys are too technical and too quick to adjust for me to assume an early finish is the cleanest read.

Noche UFC Best Bet: Fiorot vs Grasso Prediction

Manon Fiorot’s striking numbers look strong on the surface, but I do not think they tell the whole story. Her 172 significant strikes against Erin Blanchfield came against a grappler over five rounds, and that pace does not automatically translate against a clean boxer like Alexa Grasso.

The two high-end striker looks are the ones I care about most. Rose Namajunas outlanded Fiorot 60-to-58 despite breaking her hand, and Valentina Shevchenko dropped Fiorot while landing 72 significant strikes in a clear decision win.

Grasso’s real problems have mostly come when opponents force grappling and control. Shevchenko took her down eight times with 16:04 of control in their third fight, and Viviane Araujo added 3:29 of control with two takedowns.

Wrestling is not Fiorot’s usual path, and I do not see her moving the way Natalia Silva did to give Grasso trouble either. Silva outlanded Grasso 65-to-45 by staying mobile and changing looks, while Fiorot is more linear and will give Grasso the boxing looks she wants in pocket exchanges.

Grasso is flawed, but she is still one of the best strikers in the division and can look like a star in the right matchups. I like her cleaner boxing and better striker-versus-striker history here. There is too much value on the underdog to pass up.

Moreno vs Morales Prediction

Brandon Moreno looked bad against Loneer Kavanagh, and I do not want to pretend that fight did not expose the striking. He landed 79 significant strikes over 25 minutes, failed on all eight takedown attempts and never really found a clean answer at range. Most importantly, the granite chin that carried him throughout his career appears to be fading.

Still, this matchup is different against a grappler in Joseph Morales, who will bring the fight right into Moreno’s wheelhouse. Morales submitted Matt Schnell in Round 1 and Alibi Idiris in Round 2, but those are the exact types of extended grappling looks Moreno has lived in for years.

Moreno’s grappling ceiling is still much higher than his current form suggests. He had 4:49 of control with two submission attempts in the title win over Deiveson Figueiredo, then later put up 6:52 of control and three takedowns in their 2023 fight. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt has never been submitted or truly dominated on the ground in his career.

The competition gap is the key for me. As poor as Moreno has looked lately, Morales is a big step down from the run of Pantoja, Royval, Taira and Kavanagh, and I trust Moreno to win the grappling decisions inside the fight and even be the better striker.

Noche UFC Pick: Cortes-Acosta vs Blaydes Prediction

  • Cortes-Acosta vs Blaydes Pick: Waldo Cortes-Acosta -3.5 (-130 at Bet365)

This feels too soon for Curtis Blaydes after the Josh Hokit fight. Blaydes absorbed 177 significant strikes, gave up 181 total strikes and only landed 2-of-7 takedowns with 2:05 of control in that loss. Five months might be enough time after a normal fight, but not a war like that at age 35.

Waldo Cortes-Acosta is exactly the wrong style to face after that kind of beating. He pushes heavyweight pace better than almost anyone, with 147 significant strikes against Chase Sherman and 110 more in the decision over Serghei Spivac. If he does not end the fight early, Cortes-Acosta has elite volume and cardio for the modern heavyweight division.

Wrestling is clearly Blaydes’ path to victory, but that grappling pedigree might not be as much of a threat as it used to be. Across his last nine fights, Blaydes has landed just 7-of-32 takedown attempts, right at 22 percent, and Hokit stuffed five of his seven shots in April.

Cortes-Acosta has also shown enough defensive wrestling and cardio to keep this on his terms. Spivac went only 2-for-6 on takedowns and held 2:25 of control, while Cortes-Acosta still piled up 110 significant strikes over 15 minutes. The former baseball player’s strength and athleticism has kept him on his feet throughout his UFC career.

If Blaydes cannot bank long top-control minutes, he has to stand in front of the fresher, more active heavyweight. I see Cortes-Acosta winning rounds clearly with volume and making the -3.5 angle live.

McMillen vs Rahiki Prediction

Tommy McMillen and Marwan Rahiki fight like they are offended by the idea of backing up. I do not see either guy giving the other clean defensive looks for long, and that makes the under feel like the right angle. Both men have promised violence throughout fight week and will have no issue delivering on Saturday.

McMillen’s pace is absurd for featherweight. He landed 252 significant strikes on 513 attempts against Alberto Montes, scored two knockdowns and still had enough left to finish in Round 3.

Rahiki brings the other side of the violence. He knocked out Ollie Schmid in Round 1 with 22 significant strikes and a knockdown after stopping Harry Hardwick in Round 2 after landing 90 significant strikes.

The durability risk is real too, with these two being dropped a combined four times across UFC and DWCS appearances. Either Rahiki cracks McMillen early, or McMillen drowns him with volume and gets him out in the second half. Either way, this fight is not likely to reach the final horn.

Noche UFC Long Shot: Martinez vs Ige Prediction

Dan Ige has not looked right to me for a while, and now he is moving down to 135 after the first knockout loss of his career. Against Melquizael Costa, he landed only seven significant strikes before suffering his first stoppage loss in Round 1.

The Patricio Pitbull fight was another warning sign. Ige was outlanded 55-to-47 in significant strikes, taken down five times and controlled for 2:44 in a fight where he never looked fully comfortable. Overall, Ige is just struggling to pull the trigger much more than he has in years past, which is one of the biggest red flags for a fighter reaching the end of their road.

David Martinez is younger, faster and much sharper early. He beat Marlon Vera by landing 71 significant strikes and adding two takedowns, then had already shown his power with a Round 1 knockout of Saimon Oliveira. Martinez, a certified doctor, is a smart fighter with above-average athleticism and improving cardio.

I expect Martinez to be all over Ige from the jump. With the speed edge, cleaner power and Ige cutting to bantamweight after a damaging loss, I like Martinez to create separation and potentially find another finish or win dominantly on the cards.
