Nine months after his memorable battle with Lamont Roach Jr., Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz (28-3-2) seeks another defense of the interim WBC super lightweight title against Nestor Bravo (24-1).
Cruz is looking to cement his second super lightweight title reign, having claimed the WBC strap with a win over Omar Salcido in July 2025. The two-division champion is still looking to reclaim full world champion status since suffering an upset loss to Jose Valenzuela in August 2024.
The 32-year-old Bravo semi-surprisingly enters his first world title opportunity only two fights after he suffered his first professional loss to Xolisani Ndongeni in March 2025. Although the loss was highly controversial, it removed Bravo from all organizational rankings, and his ensuing win over Pedro Campa did not change that.
‘Pitbull’ and Bravo headline another Mexico-themed fight card for Premier Boxing Champions on DAZN. The event begins at roughly 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT, with the televised four-fight main card getting started at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
Isaac Cruz vs. Nestor Bravo Prediction
Isaac Cruz and Nestor Bravo are both teasing a war, but only Cruz fights with that type of intensity night after night. ‘Pitbull’ became a fan favorite with his relentless all-gas pressure style that Bravo simply does not match.
As usual, Cruz will fight against a significant size disadvantage that was immediately noticeable from their first face-off. Bravo, however, fights so reactively that it is hard to see him maintaining that range against a nonstop fighter like Cruz.
Cruz’s style has been somewhat figured out at this point, and his power has not translated as well to 140 pounds to make him the same knockout machine he was at lightweight. Yet, it’s taken masterful boxing performances to beat him in all three of his losses, and Bravo has not shown the discipline, footwork and volume necessary to pull off the upset.
Both fighters are durable and Bravo fights with such timidity that a stoppage could be difficult for ‘Pitbull.’ But one clean shot could be all it takes, with Bravo historically not handling damage and pressure well. Still, four of Cruz’s five super lightweight fights have gone the full 12 rounds and Bravo has yet to hit the canvas in his professional career.

Isaac Cruz vs. Nestor Bravo Odds

As one of the most popular Hispanic fighters, Isaac Cruz is a massive favorite to beat Nestor Bravo and retain the interim WBC super lightweight title. Cruz is listed at -800 against Bravo, giving him an implied win probability of 88.9 percent. As such, Bravo comes back at +500, giving him a 16.7 percent chance to pull off the upset.
Cruz is still not the biggest favorite on the card, which is an honor shared by Daniel Blancas and Marco Verde, who are both -3000 favorites on the undercard. Blancas is a massive favorite to beat Sergio Jimenez, while Verde is given the edge in the market against short-notice replacement Guillermo Hernandez.
Daniel Blancas vs. Sergio Jimenez Best Bet
The new co-main event should be a showcase fight for Daniel Blancas, who is substantially bigger and 14 years younger than his Saturday night opponent, Sergio Jimenez. The 39-year-old Jimenez is not a complete pushover, but the boxing, speed, power and athleticism gap will be immediately evident once the opening bell sounds.
The fast and powerful Blancas is a skilled boxer with a great feel for the game who does his best work on the inside. The 25-year-old needs his feet to be set to throw but is excellent in the pocket, using deadly body combinations to break down his opponents.
Jimenez has yet to be stopped in his 19-fight career, which includes a 10-round decision loss to 23-1 knockout artist Deon Nicholson two years ago. Blancas can get caught in exchanges, where Jimenez will not be afraid to be.
Blancas is the better boxer all around, but he will have to earn this victory against a durable Mexican fighter who will not go away.

Marco Verde vs. Guillermo Hernandez Best Bet
Former Olympic silver medalist Marco Verde returns in another featured spot against short-notice opponent Guillermo Hernandez on the Cruz-Bravo undercard. This fight has been put together at the last minute to pad Verde’s highlight reel.
Verde has everything anyone would want to see in a young prospect. He is fast and fights smart with exquisite footwork, never wasting a move or doing anything uncalculated. The Mexican can be unorthodox with his boxing, preferring to maximize the ring and dart in with quick combinations rather than setting up his offense with a traditional jab.
Verde has the patience, footwork and vision to shine against a scrappy fighter like Hernandez, whose will heavily outweighs his skill. Hernandez is a junkyard dog, but one without much rhyme or reason to his approach.
Hernandez often finds himself lunging in with his chin exposed, a flaw that Verde will quickly exploit. Verde will take his time before igniting the crowd with an emphatic finish.
The short-notice nature of this fight has delayed prop lines, but expect a quick and effortless night from the 24-year-old.

Eumil Marcial vs. Omar Ulises Huerta Prediction
Undefeated middleweight Eumil Marcial will be the first former Olympian to step into the ring Saturday night. Like Verde, Marcial has an opportunity to progress in his career against 30-year-old local fighter Omar Ulises Huerta.
After a near-100-fight amateur career, Marcial is about as technical as any young prospect can be. He wastes no movement and never forces the issue while being deceptively elusive from his southpaw stance. The Filipino might not be the most dynamic young boxer in the world, but he clearly has all the tools.
While not as naturally gifted as Marcial, Huerta is a tricky southpaw himself and has proven to be difficult to pin down. However, his record is very unconvincing, with just four of his 17 opponents owning winning records. Excluding Marcial, Huerta’s opponents combine for a record of 157-284-17.
Huerta has still been a difficult puzzle to figure out at the highest level and is coming off a 10-round decision loss to top contender Vito Mielnicki Jr. in April. He might not make Marcial sweat too much, but he will not go away.
