The eagerly anticipated finale of Big Brother 28 is nearly upon us. Set to air on CBS and Paramount+ on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 8:00 PM ET, the last three contestants are vying for the $750,000 prize. Evicted houseguests from earlier in the season will vote on the winner among finalists Taylor Brown, Rick Devens, and Drew Campbell.

This season has had unique undertones as it is also referred to as Big Brother: Time Trip, with a theme centered on the past with “relics” from the 1980s, Y2K, the dinosaurs, and a “future room” in what the producers see as possible eventualities with sleeping pods. As always, the show portrays residents as characters designed to heighten the drama. Now, as the finale is approaching, prediction markets are active with investors making their picks as to who will ultimately win.

Big Brother Odds for Season 28 Winner

Volume is enormous at more than $7.5 million and rising fast.

Rick Devens, a communications director from Georgia, is at about 50% to win.

Drew Campbell, a California surgical dental assistant, is at around 35%.

Florida school counselor Taylor Brown is in the mid-teens to win.

Rick Devens

Devens was a past contestant on Survivor. He has long been a public personality, having been a news anchor. He is viewed as likable and outgoing. Perceived as a team player who is not out solely for himself, he has carved out a niche with the fans.

Given the goodwill he’s engendered, it’s no surprise that he’s the prediction market favorite to emerge victorious. Still, he is hovering at around 50%, meaning that investors are reticent to go all in on him. This makes sense given the way the votes are tallied, with past cast members making the decision on who wins. His charisma could carry him through and garner support during the jury questioning process.

He is a safe pick to take home the $750K.

Drew Campbell

Campbell is the outrageous, though generally good-natured, personality on the show. He talks fast, thinks fast, and uses flirtation to push his case and advance. He has been moderate in his tactics, not sticking with a single group, forging alliances with various cast members, again, to derive personal benefit. This could be viewed as a negative by fans who will not be in his presence and are less vulnerable to his charms.

Since former cast members are voting, his soft treachery will undoubtedly hurt him in the vote unless he can explain himself sufficiently and sway some jury members to his side.

Taylor Brown

Brown’s work with children as an elementary school counselor has undoubtedly benefited her in the competition. She has shown calm, the ability to listen, and patience. In Big Brother, this is a true benefit. Empathy with a quick wit can get people on the contestant’s side. She has shown sarcasm and broken out of an initial perception of being the “heel” in a pro wrestling sense. Perhaps it’s a strategic decision. Or it might be that the longer she kept from being eliminated, the more understandable and popular she became.

She’s an underdog to take the win, but could she be a conciliatory choice if the voters don’t want to vote for the two top contenders? Perhaps that was her intent from the beginning.

Since the market has her with the lowest implied probability to win, there is major profit to be had if she is crowned the victor in Big Brother 28.
