After a one-fight stop in the United States, Ben Whittaker (12-0-1) returns to the United Kingdom in a headlining 12-round light heavyweight clash with Conor Wallace (17-1). Whittaker and Wallace are No. 3 and No. 2 in the IBF 175-pound rankings, respectively, giving the main event bout significant world title implications.

The fan-favorite Whittaker makes his way back into the ring four months after taking just two rounds to dismantle Richard Rivera in his US debut on the Jaron Ennis vs. Xander Zayas undercard. The knockout was his fourth consecutive, all within two rounds.

Wallace, 30, enters his biggest opportunity six months removed from a KO win over Walter Gabriel Sequeira. The southpaw is riding a 10-fight win streak, having owned the No. 2 spot in the IBF light heavyweight rankings for over two years.

The Whittaker vs. Wallace main card begins at 2 p.m. ET / 11 a.m. PT on DAZN, with main event ring walks tentatively scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET.

Ben Whittaker vs. Conor Wallace Prediction

  • Boxing Picks: Under 6.5 Rounds (+100 on bet365)

If Ben Whittaker recognizes Conor Wallace as the biggest test of his career, he is not letting it show. ‘The Surgeon’ called his 14th professional opponent a “stepping stone” to a title shot, completely dismissing the divisional mainstay as a legitimate test.

Whittaker’s arrogance is partly what makes him a huge star while simultaneously contributing to the dissent he draws from other fans. Either way, it is difficult to say he is wrong about this particular matchup.

On paper, Wallace is the best fighter Whittaker will have faced in his career. His record speaks for itself, but the tape shows otherwise.

Wallace fights with excellent timing, which is the main base of his game. He has a tendency to keep his guard low, which allows him to see everything coming and counter with pristine accuracy. His lackluster defense leads to him getting hit a lot, but his chin has held up thus far.

Wallace’s defense has gotten him caught before and it will certainly have him in danger against Whittaker, who owns the fastest hands in the division. Almost all of Whittaker’s punches come from odd angles, making it difficult for anyone to see them coming and time counter punches, and Wallace will be fighting at an extreme speed disadvantage.

The 29-year-old has spoken about wanting to bank rounds in the ring and fight longer, but this line is giving Wallace too much respect. Whittaker has already proven he can stop anyone at nearly any given moment, and Wallace has a bad habit of running into shots when closing the distance. Even without forcing it, ‘The Surgeon’ will stick up to his moniker early and not take long to make his presence felt.

Ben Whittaker vs. Conor Wallace Longshot Bet

  • Boxing Underdog Pick: Ben Whittaker in Round 4 (+1000 on bet365)

Nothing makes boxing more fun than a longshot stab, so we will take a sprinkle on Whittaker to give the crowd a show before sending everyone home happy.

Whittaker has the power to end this fight at any moment, but he continues to tease the idea of fighting more rounds before his first world title shot. He mentioned it a lot during fight week, while also suggesting he wants to bring the “glitz and glam” to potentially extend the show.

Once Wallace gets a taste of the Englishman’s speed and power, he will be on the retreat, allowing the old showboating Whittaker to re-emerge. It still might not last long, but there is a world where ‘The Surgeon’ hurts Wallace immediately in the opening frame before enjoying himself and shutting the curtains in Round 4.

Whittaker and Wallace share many similarities on the tale of the tape, with identical height and only one year between them. Wallace’s southpaw stance will create an open-stance matchup in the main event.

However, nothing on paper can convey the biggest physical advantage the Brit will have in the ring. Whittaker’s speed and athleticism remain nearly unmatched at 175 pounds and will be nothing like Wallace has seen before.
