Dancing with the Stars Season 35 Episode 5 is set for Tuesday, Oct. 6 on ABC and Disney+ at 8 PM ET, and prediction markets offer Dancing with the Stars odds for fans of the show to trade on their picks for who will be eliminated. The “novelty” aspect with the celebrities who are not prototypical dancers and performers is starting to wane in the run-up to the finale on Thanksgiving Eve. Celebrities already eliminated are Conner Leavitt, Sarah Jane Nader, Giada De Laurentiis, and Taylor Hanson. There are lingering surprises with Jimmy Kimmel sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez hanging in there. An underdog aspect cannot be discounted when assessing Guillermo’s chances.
For DWTS35 Episode 5 (“Mariah Carey Night”) hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, who will be the next celebrity to be voted off the dance floor? Prediction markets are giving users the chance to jump in, make their pick, and seek to profit if they are accurate. It was something of a surprise that Hanson was eliminated, so it can be hard to gauge who will stay and who will go, giving viewers a sense of anticipation as to what will ultimately happen.
Who Will Be Eliminated from Dancing with the Stars?
Trading volume for this market is beyond $4.3 million and is increasing rapidly.
The heavy favorite to be next to go is Savannah Bananas baseball player Jackson Olson at over 40%.
There is about 30% implied market probability for The Bachelorette, model and general contractor Tyler Cameron, to be eliminated. Ciara Miller from Bravo’s Summer House is at around 20%.
Former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actress Tatyana Ali is tied with Guillermo Rodriguez at just under 10%. Actress Julia Stiles is in the mid-single digits.
For those who want to take part and invest, the Kalshi promo code offers up to a $2,000 bonus after completing $25 in trades.
Jackson Olson
Olson was a college baseball player who had a chance to play in MLB-affiliated ball, but instead chose to play for the entertainment-centric Savannah Bananas. The team combines baseball with acrobatics, entertainment, and goofiness. He’s athletic and likable. However, there was a recent controversy in which he made a negative comment about Guillermo Hernandez on a social media parody of Guillermo’s dancing. He deleted it, but the damage might have been done, with him having perhaps scored an own goal in taking a shot at the popular Guillermo.
Was it an executable offense? Going at Guillermo could be seen as bitterness and bullying, which is not what a contestant wants as the fans prepare to vote.
He might need a near-flawless performance to survive.
Tyler Cameron
Cameron, the former contestant on The Bachelorette, model, and general contractor, has been under the radar so far this season as more vulnerable contestants were tossed overboard. Since there are several contestants who have a higher profile or are more popular with fans, it’s possible that someone more vanilla will be denied the equivalent of a rose on The Bachelorette and be gone from DWTS.
The Olson-Guillermo controversy might save him. Normally, there could be an argument that few people will be aware of what Olson did or said with his comment, but DWTS fans tend to be social media-friendly, and they pay attention to everything surrounding the show. That could doom Olson and save Cameron.
Ciara Miller
In the first few weeks, Miller was registering low on the prediction markets to be eliminated. Now, as the roster is culled, she has drawn greater scrutiny, surpassing others who were expected to go sooner. The Bravo reality show star is not in the same perceived jeopardy as Olson and Cameron, but if it comes down to those three, could the men split the vote and lead to her getting voted off?
She’s probably safe for the time being, barring a nightmarish performance that is too egregious to ignore.
