  • My Texas vs Oklahoma prediction breaks down Saturday’s Red River Rivalry
  • I’m expecting a convincing victory for Arch Manning and the Longhorns
  • Get the final Texas vs Oklahoma prediction and Red River rivalry picks, below

The undefeated Texas Longhorns (4-0) head to the Cotton Bowl in Dallas to face the unranked Oklahoma Sooners in another chapter of the Red River rivalry today. Kickoff is set for 3:30 PM ET on ABC.

Texas has the stronger profile entering the neutral-site game, with efficient offense, a disruptive defensive front and much better ball security. Oklahoma must rebound from its 41-13 loss to Georgia and find a way to sustain drives against a Texas defense that creates a ton of pressure.

Below, I’m looking for spread and total value in the college football odds. Keep reading for my final Texas vs Oklahoma prediction and Red River rivalry picks.

Final Texas vs Oklahoma Prediction

Texas -7.5
50%

My Texas vs Oklahoma prediction starts with a distinct advantage for the Longhorns across the board. The National Championship odds contender is humming with Arch Manning under center, averaging 33.2 points and 378.5 total yards per game. Manning has excellent pocket presence and has been surgical on possession downs, leading a unit that converts an elite 50% of its third-down attempts. Conversely, Oklahoma has fielded a surprisingly sluggish and turnover-prone attack. They are averaging just 22 points per game and have already committed a staggering 10 turnovers, plunging to an abysmal -6 turnover differential.

Texas utilizes a defensive scheme designed to pin its ears back, already racking up 15 sacks this season. That pressure should challenge Oklahoma’s offense and a unit moving the chains on just 34% of its third downs.

Kalshi has Texas at a 50% Yes implied probability to cover the -7.5 spread. Given Texas’ ability to protect the football and sustain drives, the favorite has the matchup advantages needed to win by over a touchdown.

Red River Rivalry Picks

  • Pick: Under 39.5 (50¢ on Kalshi)
Prediction Markets
Texas vs Oklahoma Under 39.5

Kalshi
Under 39.5
50%

My Red River Rivalry picks center on two offenses that share one redeeming trait: excellent red-zone efficiency. Texas converts on 89.5% of its red-zone trips, while Oklahoma sits right behind at 88.9%. The glaring issue for Oklahoma, however, is simply getting to the red zone in the first place. They are mustering only 321.2 yards of total offense per game, with a paltry 889 passing yards on the season. Oklahoma will struggle to piece together long drives against a Texas defense that feasts on mistakes.

Furthermore, this game features two defensive fronts that know how to generate heavy pressure. Oklahoma has tallied 13 sacks of its own, which means it can occasionally stall Texas drives and force a gritty field-position battle.

Kalshi is pricing the Under 39.5 at a 50% Yes probability. At that number, the Under is the sharper angle: Oklahoma’s offensive woes and propensity for three-and-outs should keep the combined score lower than public perception expects.

Kalshi’s 75¢ Yes price on the Texas moneyline means you would risk 75¢ to win a 25¢ profit, settling at a full $1 payout, if Texas wins outright. The market clearly views Texas as a heavy favorite to claim victory. What’s more interesting is the tight 50¢ pricing on the -7.5 spread and the Under 39.5 total, where the matchup analysis points toward the favorite and the Under.
