Delaware travels to Middle Tennessee tonight with kickoff set for 7:02 PM ET at Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, with CBSSN carrying the broadcast.
Both programs enter at 2-3 overall and 0-1 in Conference USA, coming off difficult losses. Middle Tennessee was shut out 55-0 at Kansas, while Delaware fell 30-14 at home to Liberty.
This one is not driven by national stakes, but it offers a real contrast in team profiles. Read below for my full breakdown and my Tuesday CFB best bet on the total.
Delaware vs Middle Tennessee Prediction
- Middle Tennessee moneyline (48¢ on Kalshi)
My Delaware vs Middle Tennessee prediction comes down to ball security. The Blue Raiders have committed only two turnovers and own a +5 margin with seven takeaways, while Delaware has given it away seven times and sits at -1.
That gap gives the home team a clear path to extra possessions and shorter fields. Middle Tennessee does not need an explosive offensive night to win this game, which matters for a unit averaging 306.6 total yards.
Delaware’s quarterback situation adds another layer. Nick Minicucci left the Virginia game with an injury and did not play against Liberty, with EJ Archield Jr. handling the offense in his place. His availability for Tuesday is still unclear.
If the Blue Hens are working with a backup under center, Middle Tennessee can bring pressure and force Delaware to win on the ground. That is the matchup I want at this price.
Delaware vs Middle Tennessee Odds
Kalshi prices as of October 12. Each winning share settles at $1. Under 47.5 uses No on the Over contract.
The Delaware vs Middle Tennessee odds have this priced as close to a coin flip as the board gets. The Blue Raiders sit at 48¢ despite playing at home, which is where I think the market is a step behind.
The total is tighter still, with both sides of 47.5 trading within a cent of even. Worth comparing against the traditional college football odds to see whether the sportsbook number agrees.

Delaware vs Middle Tennessee Tuesday CFB Best Bet
- Under 47.5 (50¢ on Kalshi)
The Under is my Tuesday CFB best bet. Delaware averages 21.4 points per game and Middle Tennessee averages 20.8, and neither offense has shown much against stronger opposition.
Those baselines leave little room to clear the number without short fields or unusually clean finishing drives. Middle Tennessee should lean on Antonio Martin and the running game, which shortens the contest further if they protect an early lead.
Delaware averages only 98.8 rushing yards per game. A backup quarterback would push them toward conservative play-calling, stalled possessions, and field-position football.
The risk is Middle Tennessee’s defense. They allow 420.6 total yards per game, so a few explosive Delaware passing plays could put this back in play late.
Delaware vs Middle Tennessee Team Stats
The Delaware vs Middle Tennessee stats show a mixed picture. Delaware owns the larger total and passing offense, but Middle Tennessee has allowed fewer passing yards per game and has been far more reliable with the football.
The Blue Raiders’ vulnerability is on the ground, where they surrender 225.0 rushing yards per game. That is Delaware’s clearest route to a road win if they can establish balance and keep their quarterback out of obvious passing downs.
Delaware’s 98.8 rushing yards per game suggests exploiting it consistently will be difficult, particularly if Middle Tennessee plays with an early lead. Martin is the key piece on the other side, entering with 385 rushing yards, 77 per game and 5.35 per carry.
A productive opening quarter from Martin forces Delaware to commit defenders near the line, which creates manageable throws for Roman Gagliano and his eight touchdown passes against one interception. Sean Wilson and Da’Wain Lofton remain the Blue Hens’ best answer, but how much they see depends on who is throwing to them.
