The Tampa Bay Rays (98–64) are staring at their first loss of the postseason after Cleveland (85–77) stunned Tropicana Field with a 7–3 win in Game 1 of the ALCS, and the Rays now need to avoid heading to Cleveland down 0–2.
Game 2 is set for 8:00 PM ET tonight on truTV, with the Guardians sending out Parker Messick (2.56 ERA, 193 K in 186.1 IP) against Freddy Peralta (4.42 ERA, 1.33 WHIP in 169.0 IP).
That is a notable edge on paper for the road side, so I’m skipping the moneyline and runline juice and hunting for value in the player prop market. With Junior Caminero’s power and José Ramírez’s red-hot bat headlining the lineups, here are the Guardians vs Rays MLB player props for Game 2 I like most.
Guardians vs Rays Player-Prop Picks for Game 2
When sifting through the board for this matchup, a few specific player props stand out based on recent situational trends. Here are my favorite MLB odds to attack for tonight’s slate.
Prop Pick #1: Jonathan Aranda 1+ Hits (62¢ via Kalshi)
Jonathan Aranda has a huge home-cooking advantage. Under the dome in St. Petersburg, he becomes one of the Rays’ most dependable bats. He hit .284 at home this regular season (81 hits in 75 home games) and put up 1.81 total bases per home game, compared with 1.45 on the road. He reached base safely in 55 of those 75 home games (73.3%).
That pattern has only sharpened lately. Aranda has recorded a hit in 10 of his last 11 home games, collecting 12 hits and 27 total bases in that span. Over his last five games overall he has a hit in four, including a pair of multi-hit performances. Cleveland’s staff does carry a 3.00 postseason ERA, but Aranda’s contact floor at Tropicana Field is hard to fade at this price. I love targeting it in this spot. Prop Pick #2: Yandy Diaz UNDER 1.5 Total Bases (59¢ via Kalshi)
Yandy Diaz was a monster at the Trop during the regular season, hitting .318 with 2.01 total bases per game. The recent home sample tells a very different story, which is why I’m fading his extra-base potential. He has stayed under 1.5 total bases in seven of his last eight home games, averaging just 0.63 total bases per game over that stretch. Across his last 15 home games he has reached two total bases just three times.
His hits have mostly been singles: he managed exactly one total base in each of his first three ALDS games, before a 3-total-base night in Game 1 of this series.
Staying under 2 total bases in three of his last four overall (75%) fits the same pattern. Fading him to tally two or more bases is a mathematically sound approach. Before making any bet tonight, scan the best prediction market apps for the top price.
Prop Pick #3: Jose Ramirez 1+ Hits (62¢ via Kalshi)
Jose Ramirez is seeing the ball exceptionally well away from home. He has a hit in five of his last six road games and carries a four-game hitting streak into tonight (3-for-5 in Game 1, 1-for-3 in ALDS Game 5, and two-hit efforts in each of the two games before that).
His road numbers this October are loud: 7-for-14 (.500) across three postseason road games, with at least two total bases in all three and 13 total bases (4.33 per game).
He also has 10 hits and 16 total bases over his last six road games. His regular-season road line (.211) is a caution, but his current form and the 62¢ price outweigh it. Given his elite bat-to-ball skills and track record, paying the premium for a single knock is well worth the investment.

Junior Caminero holds the highest probability to hit a home run, priced at Yes 21¢. If you prefer contact hitters, Díaz is heavily favored to record at least one hit at Yes 69¢.
Shifting to the mound, here is how the expected pitching workloads shape up:
Messick has a slightly higher strikeout ceiling, with his 5+ strikeouts line trading at Yes 51¢. Messick is also projected to pitch deeper, needing 15+ outs (Yes 56¢) compared to Peralta’s 14+ outs.
Key Player Betting Trends
- Junior Caminero (TB): Has failed to hit a home run in eight straight home games.
- Yandy Díaz (TB): Has stayed under his total bases line in 88.0% of his last eight home games.
- Jose Ramírez (CLE): Has recorded a hit in five of his last six road games (83.0% cover rate).
- Jo Adell (CLE): Has gone over his total bases baseline in six straight road games.
CLE Batters vs Freddy Peralta
TB Batters vs Parker Messick
Analyzing MLB batter vs pitcher stats is crucial for uncovering hidden value. Ramírez and Patrick Bailey have been the most effective Cleveland bats against Peralta, both hitting .333 over six career at-bats. Conversely, Caminero has struggled immensely against Messick, managing just a .083 average with two strikeouts over a sizable 12-at-bat sample.
Bettors should also note Taylor Walls’ struggles, as he has fanned in all three of his career plate appearances against the Cleveland starter.
