  • The Philadelphia Flyers travel to battle the Buffalo Sabres in an Eastern Conference matchup
  • Philadelphia arrives on a two-game win streak, but its shot production still trails Buffalo’s by a wide margin
  • Keep reading for my Flyers vs Sabres best bets, NHL odds and lineup news

The Philadelphia Flyers finally have a pulse. After a rough start, they beat Ottawa 3-1 on Saturday and edged Colorado 3-2 on Monday, and now they take that run into Buffalo on Wednesday night.

The Sabres haven’t had regulation in four games, going 2-0-2 in that stretch. They could also get Rasmus Dahlin back on the blueline after he missed the last three games.

Puck drop is 7:30 pm ET at KeyBank Center, with TNT, truTV and HBO Max carrying the game. My Flyers vs Sabres prediction is below, along with the latest odds and goalie notes.

Kalshi
Buffalo Sabres to Win
63%

Two straight wins are nice, but they don’t fix Philadelphia’s bigger problem. The Flyers are 2-6-3 and have struggled to generate shots throughout the young season.

Buffalo generates 26.78 shots per game compared with Philadelphia’s 21.45. That difference matters against a Flyers team averaging just 1.55 goals: the visitors have needed strong finishing from Michkov to get their offense moving.

That shot gap drives my Flyers vs Sabres prediction. Philadelphia’s two recent wins haven’t erased a season-long scoring problem. Buffalo can put pressure on that thin margin by sustaining offensive-zone shifts and making the Flyers defend before they can counterattack.

Matvei Michkov is the one Buffalo has to watch. He has four goals in his last three games, so the Sabres can’t give him time and space off the rush.

Buffalo also won two of three meetings last season. The Yes contract at 63¢ implies about a 63% chance, a fair price for a home team with this kind of possession edge. New customers can check our Kalshi promo code page for the current sign-up offer.

21.45Shots For/Game26.78

Special teams are where Philadelphia can push back. The Flyers kill 84.6% of penalties, and Buffalo’s power play is converting at just 9.1%. The flip side is Buffalo’s 64.5% penalty kill, which the Flyers’ 12.9% power play hasn’t been able to punish.

Buffalo’s struggling penalty kill leaves an opening for Philadelphia, with the Sabers backing an outright win instead of a puck line.

The latest Flyers vs Sabres odds at BetMGM have Buffalo at (-178), roughly a 64% implied chance. Philadelphia sits at (+170), which works out to 37%. The 63¢ Kalshi entry is slightly lower before trading fees, which should be included in the comparison.

Buffalo pays (+135) to cover -1.5, while the Flyers +1.5 costs (-160). For more player angles, check out our NHL props page.

Flyers vs Sabres Goalies & Injury Updates

Neither team has confirmed a starter. Dan Vladar is projected to start for Philadelphia, and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is expected to start for Buffalo, with Vladar at an .889 save percentage and Luukkonen at .860.

The Flyers’ injury picture is murky for this Flyers vs Sabres matchup. Travis Konecny, Owen Tippett, Tyson Foerster, Rasmus Ristolainen and Cam York all missed Monday’s win over Colorado, and their Wednesday availability still needs checking.

Buffalo expects Dahlin back after he sat out three games, which would give the blueline a big boost. Check morning skate news before you trade or bet, since Philadelphia’s lineup could look very different.
