The Boise State Broncos (6-1) host the Texas State Bobcats (4-3) at Albertsons Stadium on October 31. Kickoff is set for 10 p.m. ET.
Boise State comes in off a 31-10 win over Washington State, while Texas State hits the road after edging Utah State 20-17. Both offenses can move the ball, but they look very different near the goal line and in ball security.
Below, I break down the statistical edges, how these units match up and the late-night CFB picks I am targeting on Polymarket.
Texas State vs Boise State Prediction
Prediction: Boise State covers the -11.5 spread, with the Over 63.5 in play at the right price.
My Texas State vs Boise State prediction leans on situational football. Texas State has the more productive offense on paper, averaging 37.1 points and 517.7 total yards per game. Boise State, however, has been far cleaner in the moments that decide spreads.
The Broncos score on 88.5% of their red-zone trips, compared with 70.6% for the Bobcats. Boise State has also lost just three turnovers for a +4 margin, while Texas State has lost nine for a -4 margin.
The college football odds favor Boise State, and the defensive numbers point the same way. Boise State allows 20.6 points per game, while Texas State gives up 30.0.
Texas State vs Boise State Stats Comparison
Texas State owns the edge in yardage and third-down conversions. Boise State holds the advantages that tend to swing a spread: red-zone scoring, turnover margin and a scoring defense that allows 9.4 fewer points per game.
Texas State Offense vs Boise State Defense
The Bobcats run for 272.0 yards per game, led by Torrance Burgess Jr. with 889 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Quarterback Brad Jackson adds 382 rushing yards and five scores on top of 1,606 passing yards and 14 touchdown passes.
That ground game meets a Boise State defense allowing 99.1 rushing yards per game. If the Broncos slow the run, more of the load shifts to Jackson, who has thrown five interceptions for an offense that has already lost nine turnovers.
Boise State Offense vs Texas State Defense
Dylan Riley leads Boise State with 963 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 140 carries, about 6.9 yards per attempt. Texas State allows 119.3 rushing yards per game, a solid figure on its own, so open lanes should not be assumed.
Boise State’s edge comes from finishing drives. Maddux Madsen has thrown for 1,445 yards with 14 touchdowns and no interceptions, and the Broncos turn red-zone trips into points at an 88.5% clip.
Late-Night CFB Picks for Texas State vs Boise State
Polymarket has posted this matchup. Boise State -11.5 is trading at 49¢, the Over and Under 63.5 are each at 51¢, and the moneyline sits at 80¢ for Boise State and 22¢ for Texas State.
A contract price works as an implied probability, so 49¢ equals a 49% chance.

My target on this spread was any price under 55¢, and the current 49¢ clears it. That prices a Boise State cover below a coin flip despite the Broncos’ edges in red-zone scoring, turnover margin and scoring defense.
Texas State can move the ball, but drives that stall inside the 20 or end in turnovers make it tough to stay within two scores on the road.
Late-Night CFB Pick #2: Over 63.5
- Target: Over 63.5 (50¢ or less on Polymarket)
Both teams average more than 34 points per game, and their season scoring averages combine for 71.5 points. Each also converts better than half of its third downs, at 54.9% for Texas State and 51.6% for Boise State.
The Over is currently 51¢, one cent above my entry point, so I am not buying at this price. If it dips to 50¢ or lower before kickoff, it becomes a secondary play behind the Boise State spread.
Polymarket prices checked October 30 and subject to change.
