Oregon State (5-2) visits Fresno State (4-3) at Valley Children’s Stadium on Saturday night, closing the college football slate with an 8 PM PT / 11 PM ET kickoff on USA Network. The Beavers return from a bye on their first five-game win streak since a run that spanned 2022 and 2023, and they have not trailed once during it.
Fresno State owns the series, 9-6, and is 6-1 against the Beavers in Fresno. The Bulldogs also won last season’s meeting in Corvallis, 36-27, so Oregon State’s surge faces a real road test.
Oregon State vs Fresno State Prediction
Prediction: Oregon State wins on the road in a game that climbs past 57.5 points.
This matchup runs through Oregon State’s passing game. Through seven games, Braden Atkinson has completed 69.2% of his passes for 2,604 yards, 24 touchdowns and two interceptions, topping 300 passing yards in every game to tie Sean Mannion’s school record. Jesse Legree has 1,040 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns on 46 catches, with a 100-yard game in all seven.
The Beavers have been even harder to slow lately. Over their last four games, they averaged 50.8 points and 576.8 yards, and the offense has gone 16 consecutive quarters without a three-and-out.
Fresno State counters with defense. Through seven games, the Bulldogs allow 20.9 points per game and own a +8 turnover differential built on 12 takeaways. Quarterback Jayden Mandal has been careful, with eight touchdown passes and one interception, but Fresno State’s 351.1 yards per game trail Oregon State’s 527.0 by a wide margin.

Oregon State has both the form and the ball security to win this one. The Beavers are 5-0 when scoring first and have outscored opponents 83-16 in first quarters. Atkinson has thrown 129 straight passes without an interception since Sept. 26, which takes away the takeaways Fresno State’s defense has leaned on.
The defense has improved as well. Over the last five games, Oregon State has allowed 306.4 yards and 18.8 points per game, down from 442.5 yards and 34 points in its first two. A common opponent backs that up: Oregon State beat San Diego State 66-14, while Fresno State lost to the Aztecs 26-23 on Oct. 17.
The caution is the spot. Oregon State is 1-2 on the road after a bye over its last 10 post-bye games, and Fresno State has dominated this series at home. Even so, the Beavers are playing too well to pass on at 69¢.
Saturday Night CFB Finale Pick #2: Over 57.5
- Pick: Over 57.5 (53¢ on Polymarket)
Big plays drive this total. Oregon State leads the nation with twelve completions of 40 or more yards, and Legree has nine plays of 40-plus on his own. Fresno State has allowed ten plays of 40 or more yards (tied for 15th-most nationally) and six of 50 or more.
Oregon State’s games have cleared this number regularly, with four of its last five finishing above 57.5 total points. Fresno State’s last two games produced 69 and 49 points. The risk is a quiet night from the Bulldogs, who have been held to 26 or fewer in four of seven games, which would put the full scoring load on the Beavers.
