How Long Has the AAF Been Around?
The AAF (Alliance of American Football) is a relatively new professional American football league. The AAF was founded in 2018 by Charlie Ebersol and Bill Polian, though play did not begin until February 9th, 2019. The first game took place six days after the NFL's Super Bowl LIII champsionship game.
How Does the AAF Differ from the NFL?
The AAF is currently made up of eight centrally owned and operated teams. Broken down into Eastern and Western Conferences the teams are as follows. Eastern Conference: Atlanta Legends, Birmingham Iron, Memphis Express and Orlando Apollos. Western Conference: Arizona Hotshots, Salt Lake Stallions, San Antonio Commanders, and San Diego Fleet.
