March Madness Odds Movement Timeline

  • April 4 – The men’s final is set! Fresh off a rout of Arizona, Michigan (-270) is a big favorite to win its second-ever basketball National Championship and first since 1989. In their way are Dan Hurley and the UConn Huskies (+257). They may be underdogs in the final, but you can’t count out Hurley & the Huskies, who are looking for their third title in the last four years.
  • March 30 – We’ve got our Final Four! Michigan (+150) and Arizona (+185) continue as National Championship favorites, but the somewhat unexpected runs of Illinois (+450) and UConn (+650) have certainly ruined a number of brackets across the country.
  • March 23 – Following Iowa’s second round upset of Florida, Houston (+700) has moved into the Top 4 on the odds table, just behind Duke (+370), Michigan (+340), and Arizona (+330), the new overall favorite to win March Madness.
  • March 18 – Arizona is now getting the best average odds to win their first National Championship since 1997. The Wildcats are now averaging +375 compared to Duke’s +410, who is getting odds as long as +460 at some sportsbooks.
  • March 16 – We’ve got out four No. 1 seeds! Duke (+300), Arizona (+390), Michigan (+360), and Florida (+750) were the top four teams ranked by the NCAA and earned the #1 seeds for their regions on the March Madness bracket. Only Florida remains from the preseason top four, while Purdue (+2500), Houston (+1000), and UConn (+2500) all made the tourney as two-seeds in the West, South, and East regions, respectively.
  • January 15 – Did anyone expect this from Nebraska? Not only are the Cornhuskers still undefeated, having already ranked Illinois and Michigan State over the past month, their average title odds have shrunk from a season-opening +50000 to today’s +4000.
  • December 4 – Here come the Wolverines! After going 7-0 to open the season, Michigan’s average championship odds have shortened dramatically, going from +2050 to +800 in just two weeks.
  • November 1 – Purdue opens as the favorites to win the 2025-26 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship. The Boilermakers are averaging +860 to finally win their first basketball title, and are followed by last year’s runners-up Houston (+950) and perennial favorites Duke (+1240), Kentucky (+1440), and UConn (+1290). Not far behind are last year’s champs, the Florida Gators, who are averaging +1480 to repeat.
