The 2019 National Championship Game between Alabama and Clemson was almost a foregone conclusion from the outset of the season, at least according to the odds.
The Tide and the Tigers — who have met in the three of the last four title games — were the favorites from Week 1 and both went undefeated on their road to Levi’s Stadium.
But the oddsmakers certainly didn’t expect Clemson to lay a 44-16 beating on Alabama.
