- October 29 – The Blue Jays convincingly won Game 4 with Ohtani on the mound, guaranteeing that the World Series will return to Toronto, and are now as short as +150 to win the Fall Classic.
- October 28 – After winning last night’s 18-inning marathon in Game 3 and going up 2-1 in the series, the Dodgers are now massive -500 favorites to claim back-to-back World Series titles.

- October 18 – We finally have one of our World Series teams! The Dodgers completed the sweep of Milwaukee last night and are now averaging -212 to repeat as World Series champs.
- October 9 – It stands to reason that when you move on to the LCS, your World Series odds get better, and that’s exactly what’s happened for the Toronto Blue Jays, who are now averaging +324 to win the Fall Classic after finishing off the Yankees.
- October 7 – Two road NLDS wins in Philadelphia has reestablished the Dodgers as a clear favorite to win the World Series, with LA now getting odds as short as +155.

The Phillies (+425) we could see coming, since their World Series odds never went higher than +1200 all season. But after opening the season with odds as high as +3000, this may be the year Seattle (+488) finally plays in the Fall Classic.
- September 12 – The rise of the Milwaukee Brewers continues to be a phenomenal thing to be hold. With World Series odds as high as +10000 in mid-May, the Brew Crew are now averaging +736.

- April 10 – After opening the season 10-3, the Padres have seen a big bump to their average World Series odds, going from +2983 to +2350.

2022 World Series Favorites
While some teams that were expected to contend in 2022 are having disappointing seasons, none of the teams that were written off as also-rans are making a serious push. In other words, the 2022 World Series favorites don’t show any major surprises at this point of the season.
Los Angeles Dodgers
The LA Dodgers came out of the offseason as the 2022 World Series favorites and remain at the top of the board among contenders. The currently hold a healthy ranking lead at the top of the NL West and a slight lead on the Mets for top spot in the NL, which comes with a first-round bye in the new playoff format. Their run differential is nearly 100 runs better than any other NL team.
New York Yankees
The New York Yankees didn’t start the season as the AL favorites but it didn’t take oddsmakers too long to establish them as such. The Pinstripes are having a season for the ages so far, winning nearly 75% of their games and posting the best run differential in the major leagues. Their lead atop the AL East is in double-digits.
Houston Astros
The Houston Astros just keep doing what they’ve been doing for the better part of the last decade: dominating the AL West standings. They have a double-digit lead on their division rivals, along with the third-best record in baseball and the third-best run differential. While they’ll be hard-pressed to catch the Yankees and earn the AL’s lone first-round by in the postseason, they are going to be a immensely tough out for any team they face in October.

- Oct. 21: Houston took a 3-2 lead in the ALCS and is now the odds-on World Series favorite at -105. The Braves took a commanding 3-1 lead on the Dodgers in the NLCS and saw their odds improve to +175 as a result.
- Oct. 20: Huge come-from-behind wins by both the Astros (+195) and Dodgers (+223) put them back in front of the Braves (+325) and Red Sox (+405). ATL still leads LAD 2-1 in the NLCS while the ALCS is tied 2-2.
- Oct. 19: The Red Sox’ win in Game 3 of the ALCS put them up 2-1 in the best-of-seven with Houston and moved their odds to +245, second to Atlanta (+203). Houston faded from +233 second-favorite to the longest shot on the board at +350.
- Oct. 17: Now up 2-0 on LA in the NLCS, the Braves (+200) are outright World Series favorites, followed by the Astros (+233) who remain deadlocked 1-1 with Boston (+380) in the ALCS.
- Oct. 16: Despite taking Game 1 of the NLCS, the Braves (+350) remain well behind the still-favored Dodgers (+173).
- Oct. 14: The Dodgers eliminated the Giants in Game 5 of the NLDS and are back to being heavy World Series favorites at +130.
- Oct. 12: The Astros are now a +180 favorite after advancing to the ALCS where they will face the underdog Red Sox (+385).
- Oct. 11: On the brink of elimination, LAD has faded to +525, while the Giants improved to +305 and can punch their ticket to the NLCS with a win in Game 4 on Tuesday. The Red Sox improved to +390 after eliminating the Rays.
- Oct. 8: LAD evened the NLDS with SF and immediately saw its odds improve from +320 to +235. SF faded from +390 to +575.
- Oct. 7: San Francisco improved from _725 to +390 thanks to a Game 1 win over the Dodgers in the NLDS. Up 2-0 on Chicago, Houston shortened to +330. The White Sox faded to +1700.
- Oct. 6: Already the chalk, the Dodgers’ odds to repeat improved significantly (from +390 to +233) after edging the Cardinals (3-1) on a walk-off homer in the NL Wild Card game.
- Oct. 5: Boston improved from +1400 to +775 after beating the Yankees in the AL Wild Card game.
- Oct. 4: The favored Dodgers faded from +350 to +395 after their place in the Wild Card game was confirmed. San Francisco improved from +700 to +625.
- Oct. 3: Just one win from clinching the NL West title and earning the #1 seed in the NL, the Giants became a top-four favorite at +700.
- Sep. 26: The Dodgers have faded to +340 as they will almost certainly have to go the Wild-Card route to repeating as MLB champs.
- Sep. 13: The Yankees faded from +850 to +1500 thanks to a brutal 2-8 stretch that has put them on the outside of the playoff picture. The Blue Jays improved from +10000 to +2000.
- Sep. 6: The Giants have seen their lead atop the NL West evaporate and their World Series odds have faded +883 to +1100.
- Aug. 30: The Dodgers are back in the +300s as they continue to trail the Giants in the NL West, meaning the Wild Card Game could be looming.
- Aug. 25: Several teams are off the board at many sportsbooks. This includes the Orioles, Marlins, Twins, Rockies, Pirates, Rangers, and Diamondbacks. Fans of those teams will have to look toward 2022 already. For people in Arizona, that may coincide nicely with the legalization of AZ sports betting.
- Aug. 22: The Yankees (+1000) are back in the top five after a nine-game win streak which put them firmly in the AL’s first Wild Card.
- Aug. 16: The Dodgers have faded from +290 to around +350 as it looks increasingly likely that they will have to go the WIld Card route to the World Series. That probably means a one-game winner-take-all with division rival San Diego.
- Aug. 8: The Dodgers have shortened to +290 thanks to deadline additions, even though they still trail the Giants in the NL West by four games and may be relegated to the NL Wild Card game.
- July 19: Both AL favorites (the Astros and White Sox) improved to +583 as they have consolidated their leads atop their divisions.
- July 5: The Astros (+633) have surpassed the White Sox (+775) as the top team in the AL.
- June 27: If the season ended today, the Yankees would be 5.5 games out of the second AL Wild Card. Their odds (+1233) remain shorter than numerous teams they trail, including the Rays (+1267), Athletics (+1300), and Red Sox (+1800).
- June 21: The Astros have passed the Yankees as second-favorites in the AL.
- June 14: The White Sox have the best run differential in the Majors (+106) and are now the top team from the Junior Circuit in the World Series odds.
- May 25: Oddsmakers aren’t buying the Giants (+3767), who sit at 28-19 on the year, in large part because they sit behind both the Dodgers and Padres in the NL West, which will make it difficult just to make the postseason.
- Apr. 19: The Yankees are mired in a 2-8 slump which has led to their odds fading from +581 to +625. But they remain nearly twice as short as the White Sox (+1150), the second-favorite from the AL.
- Apr. 12: Sitting atop the AL East at 6-3, the Boston Red Sox have improved from +5250 to +4250 while division-mates NYY (+550 to +581), TB (+2500 to +2700), and BAL (+10500 to +11250) faded.
- Apr. 7: The A’s are still winless (0-5) and have seen their odds fade from +2350 circa Opening Day to +2650. The undefeated Astros have improved from +2100 to +1750.
- Feb. 10: LAD has improved from an already-short +400 to +333 with the acquisition of Trevor Bauer. Division-rival San Diego faded from +617 to +783, in turn.
- Jan. 29: The full impact of the Cardinals’ acquisition of Nolan Arenado remains to be seen. The Red Birds remain at +4000, but that is sure to change in the coming hours.
- Jan. 22: The Blue Jays’ addition of George Springer only moved the needle slightly. Their odds improved from +2667 to +2467
- Jan. 12: The White Sox (+1000) are now considered the second-biggest World Series threat in the AL after the Yankees, narrowly ahead of the Rays (+1355) and Twins (+1640).
- Jan. 7: The Padres’ high-profile offseason transactions have finally led to a jump in the odds. The Friars are now the third-favorite at +567, narrowly behind NYY (+533) for second.
- Dec. 28: The Padres have held steady at +1000 despite adding Blake Snell (and possibly Yu Darvish in the coming days) to a starting rotation that already features Dinelson Lamet, Mike Clevinger, and Chris Paddack.
- Dec. 2: The free-agent market has been dead silent of late. There has been little change in the 2021 World Series odds as a result. The only notable movement saw Tampa Bay move back into the top four ahead of Atlanta
- Nov. 30: Maryland sports betting will be a reality in the near future thanks to an in-state referendum earlier this month. Is now the time to look at Orioles 2022 futures?
- Nov. 25: Atlanta has been the biggest mover early in free agency, acquiring Charlie Morton and Drew Smyly while also retaining Josh Tomlin. Their odds are now in the top four (+1067).
- Oct. 28: The Los Angeles Dodgers (+500) have opened as favorites to win back-to-back World Series. No team has repeated since the 1999-2000 Yankees.
2020 World Series Odds for Top Contenders
- Oct. 27: The LA Dodgers won Game 6 by a 3-1 score to end their 33-year World Series drought.

- Oct. 24: A ninth-inning comeback by the Rays (helped by some sloppy fielding) evened the best-of-seven series at 2-2- and sent TB’s odds from +362 to +149. LAD faded from -480 to -176.
- Oct. 23: LA took a 2-1 series lead behind a dazzling six innings from Walker Buehler in Game 3. The Dodgers improved to -480 from -198. The Rays have faded from +167 to +362.
- Oct. 21: Brandon Lowe’s two-homer night helped Tampa even the best-of-seven at 1-1. The Rays’ odds improved from +328 to +167 in the process.
- Oct. 20: The Dodgers dominated Game 1 (8-3) and are now a -427 favorite to win their first World Series since 1988. The Rays are a +328 longshot to dig out of an early 1-0 hole.
- Oct. 19: The Dodgers completed their comeback from 3-1 down against the Braves to earn a spot in the 2020 World Series opposite the Rays. LAD has opened as a huge -203 favorite. Tampa is a +165 underdog.
- Oct. 18: Finally able to rid themselves of those meddlesome Astros, the Rays are once again World Series favorites at +120 as the Dodgers (+175) and Braves (+290) head to a Game 7.
- Oct. 17: With the Braves leading the Dodgers 3-2 in the NLCS and the Rays and Astros now tied at 3-3 in the ALCS, the World Series odds are narrowing: ATL (+170), TB (+270), HOU (+330), LAD (+350).
- Oct. 16: Atlanta (+125) is the new favorite. They have taken a 3-1 lead on the Dodgers (+550) in the NLCS.
- Oct. 15: Both winless teams (the Astros and Dodgers) won last night. Now trailing 2-1, LAD (+230) is right behind ATL (+225) in the updated futures. Trailing 3-1, HOU (+2300) is still the longest of shots.
- Oct. 14: The Braves (+160) have the Dodgers (+400) on the ropes, holding a 2-0 lead in the NLCS
- Oct. 13: The Braves took a 1-0 lead on the Dodgers in the NLCS last night, but LAD still has better World Series odds (+220 vs +250).
- Oct. 12: Up 2-0 on Houston, Tampa has become the World Series favorite at +135.
- Oct. 11: A Game 1 ALCS win for the Rays moved their odds from +225 to +173. The Dodgers, who have yet to start their best-of-seven NLCS with the Braves, remain +155 favorites.
- Oct. 9: Tampa Bay improved to +225 after bouncing the Yankees in a winner-take-all Game 5 in the ALDS.
- Oct. 8: The Astros (+500) still aren’t getting a ton of respect from oddsmakers. Already in the ALCS, Houston’s odds are longer than NYY (+375) and equal to TB (+500), who will battle for the other spot in the ALCS tomorrow.
- Oct. 7: The Yankees faded from +390 to +700 after falling behind Tampa 2-1. The Dodgers only improved slightly by taking a 2-0 lead on the Padres, going from +200 to +190, as oddsmakers had already penciled in that Clayton Kershaw start as a win.
- Oct. 6: A Game 1 win over San Diego sent LAD’s odds to +200. The Yankees are still the second-favorite, but after dropping Game 2 to the Rays, are well back at +390.
- Oct. 5: The Yankees are as short as +275 after taking Game 1 from the Rays.
- Oct. 2: Despite leading the Cubs 1-0, the Marlins’ World Series odds (+2700) are longer or on par with the Padres (+1400) and Cardinals (+2700) who are tied 1-1 in their best-of-three series.
- Oct. 1: A Game 1 win for the Dodgers moved their odds from +350 to +290 or shorter at most books; the Padres fell to the +2000 range after dropping their own Game 1 to STL.
- Sep. 29: The Yankees, Rays, White Sox, and Astros all moved up the board after Game 1 victories, while the Indians, Blue Jays, Twins, and A’s are already on life support.
- Sep. 28: Despite falling to the #5 seed (which means playing on the road in the Wild-Card round) the NY Yankees (+600) are slight favorites over the Tampa Bay Rays (+650) to win the AL.
- Sep. 22: The defending AL champion Houston Astros have seen their World Series odds fade to +2200, barely in the top-ten.
- Sep. 11: The Padres (+1100) have moved into the top five, bumping out the Braves (+1433). In the AL, the Chicago White Sox (+1200) are now ahead of Central division-rival Minnesota (+1400).
- Sep. 7: There is growing separation between the Dodgers (+350) and the field.
- Sep. 1: San Diego’s World Series odds improved from +2200 to +1600 after the trade deadline, which represents a 26% increase in implied probability.
- Aug. 31: The Padres odds were sitting at +2200 heading into Monday’s trade deadline. Their many, many acquisitions – especially Mike Clevinger – will lead to shorter odds, but just how short remains to be seen.
- Aug. 17: The high-powered Twins now hold the third-best odds (+733), a position long occupied by the Astros, who have fallen to sixth-favorite (+1267).
- Aug. 10: The Athletics, who hold a five-game lead in the AL West, now have nearly identical World Series odds as the Astros (+1233 vs +1333).
- July 14: There has been interesting movement in the top ten, which now includes CIN, CHW, and LAA, but not OAK, WAS, STL, or CHC.
- June 24: The day after the MLB and MLBPA officially put in place a 60-game regular season with the standard 10-team playoff, the Yankees (+450) and Dodgers (+375) both saw their odds drop. A shorter season means increased volatility.
- May 11: The second-tier favorites have generally gotten longer with the MLB planning to play a shortened, 80-game season with an expanded playoff field. Fewer games means greater likelihood for unexpected outcomes.
- Mar. 28: Noah Syndergaard’s Tommy John surgery has hurt the Mets’ odds, falling from +1500 to around +1800.
- Mar. 11: The coronavirus pandemic has caused MLB to suspend all activities and postpone the start of the regular season by at least two weeks. Futures odds are still available at most sportsbooks.
- Mar. 5: All the spring training injuries to the Yankees (+350) have resulted in the Dodgers (+305) jumping them in the odds.
- Feb. 18: The Twins (+1600) have entered the top-five favorites. In related news, Josh Donaldson saw his AL MVP odds go from +6600 to +3300.
- Feb. 5: The Mookie Betts trade has the Dodgers closing the gap on the Yankees, going from +600 to +533. Expect them to keep trending in that direction.
- Jan. 28: After dropping as far as +750, the Astros are trending back the other way (+683) after hiring Dusty Baker as manager. The Twins have also moved up significantly (+1567).
- Jan. 23: Houston’s odds are starting to fade somewhat, falling from +600 to +667 over the past ten days.
- Jan. 13: The Astros (+600) have not seen their odds move – yet – after the league suspended manager AJ Hinch for the entire season. But don’t expect that to be true for much longer.
- Jan. 10: Both the Dodgers (+600) and Astros (+600) have narrowed the gap somewhat on the Yankees since mid-December, but NYY is still far and away the 2020 favorite.
- Dec. 11: Signing Gerrit Cole has vaulted the Yankees well ahead of the field. NYY is as short as +325 at one online sportsbook.
- Dec. 5: The Chi-Sox have been the biggest spenders in early free agency and their odds improved slightly (+5000 to +4700).
- Nov. 20: The sign-stealing scandal swirling around the Astros has led to their 2020 odds dropping from +530 to +600. The Yankees are now the favorites at +570.
- Nov. 7: The threat of losing both Anthony Rendon and Stephen Strasburg has led to the Nats dropping from +1200 to +1300, while the Dodgers consolidated their status as NL favorites, improving from +1000 to +800.
- Oct. 31: The Astros, despite losing the 2019 World Series in seven games and facing the loss of free-agent ace Gerrit Cole, have opened as favorites at +550.

2019 American League Top Contenders
AL East World Series Odds
When it comes to historical supremacy of the AL East, no one can top the Yankees, who have won 18 division titles, 40 American League Pennants, and 27 World Series titles.
AL Central World Series Odds
The Cleveland Indians have dominated the AL Central since its inception in 1994, winning nine division titles. Their most recent title came in 2018 when they won 91 games.
AL West World Series Odds
Keep an eye on the Astros in 2019. Houston has won 100 + games in back-to-back seasons and will be returning much of the same core that captured the 2017 World Series.
2019 National League Top Contenders
NL East World Series Odds
No team surprised bettors more in 2018 than the Braves, who won 90 games despite having one of the youngest and most inexperienced rosters in the league. Much of the credit goes to rookies Ozzie Albies and Ronald Acuna Jr., who combined for 50 home runs and 136 RBIs in their first year in the Majors. Will they continue to fly high in 2019, or will a sophomore slump bring the Baby Braves back to earth?
NL Central World Series Odds
NL West World Series Odds
The Dodgers have owned the NL West since it was realigned in 1994. LA has won the last five division titles and entered this season with average odds of +780 to win the World Series.
2018 World Series Odds
Few teams have experienced more ups and downs this season than the Dodgers, whose odds were as long as +1800 on June 1st after they fell to four games below .500. LA has since seen its fortunes improve after getting unexpected contributions from Max Muncy and Matt Kemp, and adding four-time All-Star Manny Machado.
AL East World Series Odds
AL Central World Series Odds
The Cleveland Indians have dominated the AL Central since it’s inception in 1994, winning nine division titles. Their most recent title came in 2017 when they won an AL-best 102 games.
AL West World Series Odds
No one expected the Rangers to be world beaters entering the 2018 season, but Texas has performed far worse than even its harshest critics could have anticipated. The team’s long odds got even longer on April 12th when All-Star shortstop Elvis Andrus went down with a broken elbow.
NL East World Series Odds
No team experienced a more precipitous fall from grace during the offseason than the Marlins, whose average World Series odds plummeted from +6600 on November 24th to +39000 on March 13th after the team unloaded Giancarlo Stanton, Dee Gordon, Marcell Ozuna, and Christian Yelich. Miami has gotten off to a predictably slow start in 2018 and is on pace to lose 100 games.
NL Central World Series Odds
Few teams needed more immediate help during the offseason than the Reds, who finished 2017 with a dismal 68-94 record. Unfortunately management didn’t seem to get the memo and instead got rid of All-Stars Zack Cozart and Bronson Arroyo, and veteran pitchers Scott Feldman and Drew Storen. Vegas took notice and dropped Cincinnati’s odds from +5000 on November 24th to +20000 on February 21st.
NL West World Series Odds
The Dodgers have owned the NL West since it was realigned in 1994. LA has won the last five division titles and entered this season with average odds of +530 to win the World Series.
