Peru (+175) vs. Venezuela (+187), Draw (+229)

So far, Group C of the 2015 Copa America – featuring Peru, Venezuela, Colombia, and Brazil – looks like the most even of the three in the tournament. Peru and Venezuela will clash tonight at Elias Figueroa Brander Stadium (7:30 PM Eastern) with both hoping to earn a massive three points.

Venezuela surprised Colombia in the first meeting, beating one of the best teams in the world 1-0 on the strength of a tally from Salomon Rondon.  The Vinotinto have never won the Copa America, and they still have a long way to go, but the team has showed tremendous tactical schemes that could be tough to beat.

“There are always things to improve. When players are motivated, they do a good job. We have to strengthen our definition work”, said Venezuela manager Noel Sanvicente to ESPN FC. “It is a victory for our country and we want to give more joy to our people.”

Peru lost to Brazil 2-1 in heartbreaking fashion in their opening, surrendering the winner on the last play of the game. The Peruvians hung tough with the Selecao, but couldn’t contain Neymar in the end. The good news for the team heading into tonight’s match is that Venezuela doesn’t have anyone on their roster that can rival the Barcelona striker.

Manager Ricardo Gareca knows that, with one loss already under the team’s belt, there is no room for error going forward.

“The idea is to maintain the players in the best way possible because this doesn’t end here. Independently it was important to get a good result in the first game, we still have two finals in front and we need our players in form that’s why we made the changes”, Peru’s coach Ricardo Gareca.

On paper, these teams look pretty evenly matched. That’s what the play tonight is the draw.

Pick: Draw +229.
