BetMGM Canada Receives AGCO Approval for Apr. 4 Launch
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is working in partnership with iGaming Ontario (iGO) to regulate privately-owned sportsbooks in Ontario. BetMGM Canada was expected to be one of the first private sports betting sites available in province, and that is now confirmed after they received official AGCO approval.

Privately-owned sportsbooks like BetMGM Canada will bring more value to Ontario sports bettors, who are currently limited to lottery-run platforms like PROLINE. With a sleek mobile betting app and some of the best promos in the entire industry, BetMGM Canada is sure to be a popular choice for players in the Ontario iGaming market.
BetMGM Canada is now the sixteenth operator to receive AGCO approval. Up to 30 sportsbooks could be allowed to go-live on April 4, flooding the Ontario sports betting market with new sports betting sites that will give fans a better way to get closer to the action in their favourite games.

Despite the stiff competition from other sportsbooks, BetMGM Canada is serious about making an impact in this emerging market. They’ve been aggressive in locking up brand ambassador deals, signing two hockey greats to official partnerships ahead of the April 4 launch date.

BetMGM Canada didn’t stop there, as they also signed Edmonton Oilers star forward Connor McDavid to a similar agreement. Widely considered the best player currently in the NHL, McDavid was the first active player to sign with a privately-owned legal sports betting site.
