  • Fanatics Sportsbook is now live in Virginia
  • The sportsbook operator is now live in seven states
  • It’s the second state launch in two weeks for Fanatics Sportsbook

Virginia is for lovers….and the Fanatics Sportsbook.

Fanatics Betting and Gaming announced today that its Fanatics Sportsbook launched in Virginia this afternoon.

Virginia is Fanatics Sportsbook’s seventh live state and second state launch in the last week.

State Migration from PointsBet Continues

Fanatics Betting and Gaming received a sports betting license in Virginia through its acquisition of PointsBet’s North American assets. Virginia was among the first eight states turned over to Fanatics back in September.

According to the acquisition details provided from the Fanatics/PointsBet deal in June, PointsBet was required to begin turning over its U.S. assets to Fanatics by Sept. 1 at a clip of three states per month.  Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia were the first states to be turned over through the deal.

PointsBet will hand over access to three more states on a rolling basis until all U.S. entities are acquired by Fanatics Betting and Gaming by May 2024 at the latest. PointsBet USA will continue to operate in states such as Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, and New York until Fanatics Betting and Gaming is able to close on those select states individually.

Virginia is the seventh state Fanatics Sportsbook is now live. The other six states are:

  • Kentucky
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • Ohio
  • Tennessee
  • West Virginia

The sportsbook will feature its live streaming option in the state. Fanatics Sportsbook, in partnership with Genius Sports Limited, was one of the first legal sportsbooks to launch BetVision, a live sports betting product, enables customers to place bets while live-streaming select professional football games in the app.

PointsBet customers in Virginia will have to download the Fanatics Sportsbook on iOS and Android. Users can log in using the same email address and password used on PointsBet and any open bets and balance from their PointsBet account will be available in their new Fanatics Sportsbook account.

No Fanatics Casino in Virginia

Virginia will not include the Fanatics Casino, which is being piloted in neighboring West Virginia.

West Virginia is the first state where users can access the new Fanatics Casino. The company will pilot the new online casino, which is embedded in the Fanatics Sportsbook app, in the state.

Fanatics Casino will feature a range of casino games, such as roulette, slots, and blackjacks, along with new Fanatics based casino games exclusive to Fanatics Sportsbook players. More online casino games will follow in the future.
