Errol Spence Jr. vs Danny Garcia Odds

Fighter Odds
Errol Spence Jr -550
Danny Garcia +375

Odds from Dec. 1

Spence Jr. has an unblemished pro record and last competed over fourteen months ago. He won the WBC belt from Shawn Porter via split decision in a war that many pundits and fans within boxing saw as the fight of the year for 2019.

Garcia enters this contest on the heels of back-to-back wins with his last bout being a unanimous decision victory over Ivan Redkach in January.

Errol Spence Jr’s Comeback After a Brush With Death

Over the course of his career, Spence Jr has cemented himself within the top five ranked pound for pound fighters currently plying their trade in the sweet science.

Errol Spence Jr is returning after a graphic car crash in October 2019. This derailed the initial January plans for the Garcia fight.

The crash also almost took everything away from Spence Jr. He returns with not just a new lease on his competitive career but seemingly on life in general.

Garcia has held gold at both 140 as well as 147, began his career on a 33 fight win streak, and he only has two career defeats both of which were in competitive outings to divisional elites Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter.

Danny Garcia is no stranger to the WBC welterweight title and will be looking to reassume the throne this weekend if he has his druthers.

Danny Garcia: The Perpetual Underdog

Despite his deep resume, Danny Garcia more often than not seems to find himself in the underdog role in the eyes of oddsmakers. Spence Jr’s car crash creates a quandary of sorts for Garcia.

If he bests Errol Spence Jr, some people are going to come out and say that Danny Garcia got the jump on him because it was his first fight post-accident.

I think this has also affected the oddsmakers a touch. I feel like Spence Jr would be an even more sizeable favorite if that aforementioned car wreck had never happened.

Both pugilists have 21 career stoppages, but Spence Jr has a dozen fewer pro fights overall. He holds an 81 percent stoppage rate.

The edge in finishing ability goes to Spence Jr, but Garcia is a crafty fighter. He has a certain level of pop in his strikes and has been fighting at a world championship level for a decade.

This prizefight is scheduled for twelve rounds, the prop bet for this bout to go the distance is at -250, and I think that is a safe bet.

Despite Spence Jr being a capable finisher, Garcia has shown great durability by never being stopped once across a near-40 fight career.

The prop bet for Errol Spence Jr to win on points is at -134, and I think that’s a good bet. I see the former besting the latter on the judges’ scorecards when Spence Jr vs Garcia goes down.

Pick: Errol Spence Jr (-550)
