  • Read below for a full update on the odds following the Paul vs Woodley press conference

Jake Paul, a former Disney star and YouTuber, picked up boxing three years ago, and since then he has taken over the sport. He is 3-0 as a pro, and he’s coming off a first-round KO win over Ben Askren in April, who was a former UFC welterweight and Olympic wrestler. He will now have the toughest test of his career as he faces Tyron Woodley who’s a former UFC welterweight champion and does have KO power.

Although Woodley is the more experienced fighter, he is the betting underdog heading into the fight on Sunday in Cleveland, and his odds only became wider following Thursday’s press conference.

What Happened at the Press Conference?

Jake Paul says he picked Tyron Woodley to get beaten up, and he will send Woodley into retirement. Paul also believes this will be his coming out party as he hasn’t shown a fraction of how good he is. He also showed up with no shirt.

Woodley, meanwhile, didn’t have much trash talk to say, instead, he says he will let his hands do the talking, and he will hurt Paul bad on Sunday as he says he will knock the 24-year-old out cold. He also believes Paul’s team is lying to him that he is actually good at boxing as they just want to keep getting paid by him.

Paul then says he will put on a boxing clinic and promises Woodley will get put to sleep and turned into a meme. As the press conference started to go on, it seemed that Woodley was getting angry and annoyed by what Jake Paul was saying and the way he was acting.

Jake Paul then made it clear he doesn’t respect Woodley and he’s completely overlooking him as he has his eyes on Tommy Fury who is also fighting on the card against Paul’s training partner and Bellator MMA veteran, Anthony Taylor.

At the faceoff, it was noticeable once again that Paul is the bigger fighter and he kept his eyes on Woodley the entire time. He also was seen talking to the former UFC fighter, who never said anything back.

After the press conference and faceoff, people from Paul’s team were trash-talking Woodley’s mom, and his team which, Woodley did not like, and the two teams got into a mini scuffle. The security and police were then forced to intervene and settled everyone down.

Will The Odds Move for Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley?

I do think you will see the odds only increase on Jake Paul as the public has been backing him since the line was released. Woodley is also on a four-fight losing streak and has been dominated in all four fights and some have questioned if he’s just doing this for the payday which has many bettors going against him.

Paul also has a massive fanbase that will put their money on him, while Woodley is someone many people bet against when he was in the UFC and was often overlooked. I don’t think the odds will get too crazy, but Paul around -220 is what I expect it to close around when they step into the ring on Sunday.
